This tobacco seems to have improved by letting it sit in the tin, after breaking the seal, for a few weeks. The taste is amazing! It's also funny how one of my least expensive briars is becoming an excellent smoking pipe!
I have a pipe that is very similar. Also very inexpensive and also smokes like a steam engine. Doesn't make me want the custom hand made pipes any less though. Lol

Tortuga series?
Sure is K ! I love the contrast between the lighter colored rim and the dark rustication. With the gold ring and raw briar bowl it really is a beautiful pipe.

Quick query, the cap thingy that came with it... has some sort of foam to keep it in the bowl... im guessing this is useless other than storage as the foamy stuff would surely melt? Or am i way off?

It's for pre-packing a bowl before you head out for the day...I think.

Second Bowl in the new 626 Tortuga Sav, enjoying some Stokkebye Proper English... Not bad but I prefer English Oriental Supreme...less of the woodfire taste.

Ps the new zippo lighter is Awesome! Driving down the freeway at 110km today with the window down and it still lights beautifully!
