I would find a big block of land somewhere on the beautiful coast of Northern NSW or the Sunshine Coast (Aus) and go to town on the house of my dreams. I'm talking waterfalls, caves, swim up bars, walk up bars, crawl up bars, fly up bars. Bars in the toilets... Etc etc

I would also build a walk in the size of my current house and spend at least 4m$ stocking it with my favourites. I would live happily with family and friends making pipes in my spare time.

Once a month I would fly a BOTL over to stay for a month holiday until I knew everyone!

Probably die of being too awesome.

I'm only 28 so I would play it pretty simple. Definitely pay off my parents mortgage and give them a nice chunk of money to retire and do whatever they want, probably have to do the same for my in-laws as well. Definitely move my family out of my in-laws and into a suitable home. I would also rebuy my family farm in PA that we had to sell a few years back. My daughter would have a sick college fund if that's what she decides to do as well with any of my future kids. But as for me I would continue to work in the career I worked so hard to get into. I would take epic vacations once a year and early retirement would always be an option. A lot of my money would go to helping veterans. Maybe build a walk in humidor in my home, or at least finally get a wineador. As I reread through this I realized it wasn't too simple but I guess it's always nice to dream.

If you win 700 million dollars , hopefully you live in one of the six states that let you remain remain anonymous. I can't imagine winning that Amount of money and letting your kids leave the house to go to school without fear of someone kidnapping them

The first thing every multi-million lotto winner should do...? Hire a lawyer, immediately followed by a financial advisor. Good luck to all the BOTL who get tickets.

with a lump sum, taxes would be around 46%, so you should get a tiny bit more than half.
i buy tickets when the jackpot swells, too. i absolutely hate it. i start spending money that i dont have... "10% to my parents, 10% to the wifey's parents, some to our siblings...a new home, new cars..."...etc. Then, when the drawing starts, and the first ball doesnt appear on any of the tickets, i get pissed.. i mean punchy-pissed.

what would i do with that money? you would see me on the news. i would be in one of the supercars that @jonnylieberman recommends, with a hooker's* face in my junk, both of us dead in a fiery car crash, with cocaine all over my face. if i actually win, there is no scenario where this doesnt happen.

Good thing I have a lawyer and am a financial advisor.

I would probably still be a workaholic.
Me too. I go nuts when the markets are closed out of boredom, so I still end up in the office working.

Yeah, I have plenty to keep me busy at home (loving wife, new baby girl, cooking, cleaning)... but I like having my hands in 4 different buckets of mud at the same time. Keeps me sharp and learning something new everyday. Not so much out of boredom for me. It is, quite simply, an addiction to knowledge. haha

Pay off all my and parents det, and give them a healthy retirement account. Buy a big piece of land and build my dream house. Go back to school for whatever I want to. Buy a few more old cars and trucks. Buy LOTS of guns and ammo... Oh and every BOTL will get a free box of super ultra premium Gurkha sent to them! ;) and I would hire a private defective to figure out where @Griz lives! Wahahahaha

Is it bad that my first thought was gutters and a new dish washer? After that pay off all of my debt, get a GMC Canyon or Challenger Scat Pack 392 Shaker, and start putting back a trust fund for my kid.

My wife said she would quit her job and be a stay at home mom. I couldn't do that. I would turn into a lump in the easy chair. I would keep working. I would use the pay checks for cigar money and doing things for co-workers.

No that is not bad. Goes to show how grounded somebody is. The only thing a payout would do for me is give me peace of mind when it comes to finances. I like your line of thinking but I would have to get a GT350R and a Raptor Crew Cab.
