The area will be flooded with fakes.

If their LCDH is anything similar to the one in Cabo... you will love it.

Check their box codes... I'm sure they have a lot of aged boxes in there

hey @DainiusTheNovice use some of the sites that we have provided http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/ with cubans there are several defects with the bands and embrodery on the bands that are usally a dead give away that they are either fake or real. another give away would be the cap. there are several others another way would be to buy from reputable places then you don't have to worry much about fakes. i do understand your country has some very unforgiving taxes, so i can see trying to find deals but don't let people take advantage of ya son

I only found three cigar shops, two were in the shopping center and one was up the hill from the shopping area up to the top of the hill, LA Casa del Habano. This larger shop you could smoke in, has a large humidor and scenery. They follow you in the humidor like you are a thief, have tons of Cubans and price is no object. CA has a story on this one and its really the only shop but I hated it. I purchased from a smaller shop in the shopping center, he was cheaper, I asked some locals where to go. Bring dry beads or a way to dry them out as they are way to wet to smoke. Like 80 plus humidity there. I had a Bolivar plug during first third, broke my heart. I was not impressed with the cigars in Cancun. Duty free at the airport was more expensive than buying online so passed there as well.
Hope you are staying downtown, best beach area, anything south of the downtown point gets lots of weeds washed up from coral reefs. We stayed at the Moon Palace, didn't know any better, only been there once.

Thank you for all the good advice guys! Sorry for the spelling errors I type to quick on my phone and don't look back. I did a little more reading about this and found out that tobacco taxes are almost as bad there as Canada and thats why they are expensive there. I was hoping someone knew a place there where I can avoid paying the taxes. But just like I figured that would mean buying from a sketchy place where I would need to know the difference between a real cuban to the the very best fake.

If we had a place for new members to go and READ OLDER POSTS,we would not have to answer these repetitive questions every month.
I challenge the Mods to set aside a spot to store and develop a Newbie Resource Area.

No challenge needed.

The search button works but it will never get used. This will never stop, but it's no big deal.

Why does this bother you so much if you don't want to help just move on? I thought this was a forum for new and experienced smokers to learn.

If people searched every question... the only threads active would be the smoke of the day posts ( which @Stogie_Bear started 6 hours early) and the latest purchases thread and the rest of the board would be DEAD.

So these posts aren't a big deal, they keep the board going and allow new people to get help from active members.

Usually when you search a post you will find that most of those old members aren't even active.
