So, I've been doing some research and looking at all the threads and pretty pics of owners. So I was stupid when I invested in my "Tower Of Power" and did not save up the rest of the funds to get an Aristocrat as I was advised by @icehog3 and a few other botl's, again I was stupid and impatient. I have regretted it these past couple of years. The craftsmanship on mine is not the best (China made, so yeah.....i've also talked to and heard from other TOP owners who are no longer happy with their investment) I have had issues with the seal going on 2 years now, I've tried re-seasoning, weather stripping, adding fans, different humidification systems, you name it.....only to fall back in to panic mode with my lovely sticks.....they smoke fine, and maybe I am just being paranoid, but lately I cannot keep the humidity regular.

I've been kicking around the idea of selling it, and getting an Aristocrat......NOW this this not something that will happen this weekend, I have some debts that I am working on 1st that will clear up extra funds, so this probably wouldn't happen until end of the year, beginning of next or maybe even a nice bday present to myself on my 50th next year.

Anyway, I want to hear from you, do I or don't I? I say yes, but I want to hear from you. Also I am not what you would call a handyman, I get confused just measuring things, so some of you will suggest I call Bob and talk to him, but i'm not confident enough to talk "manly" things.

So I was wondering if you could tell me what I should ask for.

I am thinking I would need something like this

http://www.aristocrathumidors.com/aristocrat-MxtPlus.html with a Set & Forget it system

But I'm at a loss and could use some guidance..........what would you have done differently? How's it holding up? Have you outgrown it? I have a LOT of singles, so I am looking at a couple of single drawers as well.

also if you could tell me which unit (or units) you have and include pics that would be great *insert Lumbergh pic here*

Sorry if this is a garbled mess, I'm just typing as i'm coming up with shit, if you need more clarification don't be afraid to yell at me.

Thanks

Looks like Bob has changed some things, I didn't see any humidors without the smaller bottom doors. I actually like that, you could get at your humidification without opening the main compartment.

I have the one same size as the 4874. It has glass inserts in the doors, which are cool for presentation, but could end up being a seal issue. That being said, I've had mine since '06 without issue. Did have to replace the control module for the Set and Forget once, but Bob made that as simple as unplugging the old one and plugging in the new.

It's definitely an investment of cash, Mick, but I've never regretted it. Holds enough that I haven't had to figure out overflow with coolers or other storage. Hopefully I will see you in August and we can chat about it over a smoke and a couple fingers of bourbon.

Thanks Tom, I was looking at 4874 as well, but as pictured, no glass this time around.
Won't be there in Aug amigo, especially if I get this new job, this weekend's HBH will be it for me.

Ya got me Chuck, but I feel this is a bit more important than Spotify

*edit* hey I sent you a friend request on IG, accept that shit slacker

1. I think an aristocrat would serve a nice piece to any room. Super fancy. But not necessary. Id spend that type of money on a vacation package. I like plastic totes since i keep my AC a good setting.

2. just rejected your instagram request

@irratebass I was lucky & found/purchased mine off Craigslist - couldnt be happier with it:

Only downside is these guys weigh a ton - was a pain in the ass to move 2 weeks ago haha
If you can afford it, they are awesome though
Nice!!! Congrats! I'm not worried about the weight, I can get some dudes to help with it. my buddy @elderboy02 has the 48 as well, I'm not sure that one would be big enough to house all my shit. Those are nice though & a bit cheaper, but always go bigger right?

I would look onto converting a closet or sectioning off a corner of a room into a walk in. When I crunched the numbers they were pretty close on cost. Bob can hook you up with all the supplies for the walk in.
Yeah, that ain't happening.......wife and all. She doesn't care how I spend my $, but making adjustments to the house is a no no.

I appreciate the response though

Funny thing, I walked Mjones through my humidors and mentioned that I would like a nice cabinet to keep them in instead of the tupperdors. My "friend" Mike said "that's like putting lipstick on a pig, buy better cigars then worry about buying something fancy to show them off!" Maybe one day..

Good luck on your quest, I kind of envy your problem.

But that would be SO MANY tupperdors, that mess would not make the wife happy, trust me a big cabinet is ideal for my happy home, it's not about prestige really, it's about protecting my investments so I can enjoy them for years and yearS without worry.
