Just had the official opening of my in home cigar / bourbon lounge. Had some friends over to celebrate. Some pics from the night:

We put a 860 cfm exhaust fan in the attic and added the Murphy Doors and an air purifier to help clean the air and I worked like a charm. No smoke in the rest of the house and a place to enjoy and smoke in the 120 degree summers.

Open to any AZ BOTL’s or AZ visitors to come enjoy.

Looks nice

question tho,

you’re sucking all that cold air out, and you’re pulling air from the rest of the house.... which is probably pulling it from cracks across the house and maybe bathroom exhausts and drains right?
When it’s cranked to full blast you can feel the air coming from the rest of the house, but so far no nasty smells have been pulled out or in in this case. Over time I’ll keep checking around to see what happens but so far so good.

Great job - looks fantastic. And a 860 cfm exhaust, wow. That's more than double the size of mine but I have never had more than 2 of us smoking at once. Great setup !
Yeah usually maybe 2-3 of us in there or just me in the summer. That night there were 8 of us at once so I had it up full blast. It’s on a dimmer so I can adjust fan speed from the room. Cut it to about half to test and it still did a solid job.

Like the massive doors. Also curious about air handling.

Yeah when we put the doors in I sealed with canned expanding foam to make it mostly air tight. We ended up using the ceiling fan power to control via switch in the room. Cut a hole to mirror the AC vent near the exterior side of the room and ran the exhaust out a vent in the side of the roof. So far so good.

Had mine on a dimmer type switch for a while but changed it to a timer switch so I can leave it running for a while after I'm done smoking and go to bed.

Yes mine too pulls enough air in so nothing escapes to the rest of the house but not enough that it screws up any of the heating / cooling in the common area.
