just purchased our airline tickets for spring break: 3/17-3/26 to Ambergris Caye, Belize! http://ambergriscaye.com/

will have an overnight at DFW till noon 3/18.

we used our ff miles, and it only cost $30 per ticket so we figured on going here for a couple days:

jerelyn will do all the spa stuff,,, i'm going fishing in these freshwater rivers for the peacock bass (i hear pirannahs taste pretty good too! i hear they think we taste pretty good too!!) !! jump on a boat from Ambergris Caye, 30 minutes later your cruising up this river, into the heart of a belizean rainforest. lot's of mayan ruins and such,,,, pretty freaking cool!!

it'll be a hoot!!

Last time I was in Belize, we did cave tubing, which was pretty awesome! It's definitely a good time to scare the lady in the life

I did the zipline in Costa Rica and it is well worth it. cave tubing in Cancun was fun too. I'm not sure what the purple pills are for, but you may want to get your tropical jungle shots to keep from getting any nasties in the jungle. Malaria, Hep A, and so on. Also good to get the shots if you are an adventurous eater. So if you are like me and will eat meat on a stick from a street vendor, good idea to get the shots.

Fly fishing in Belize? Ambergris is a gorgeous area - great offshore flats-fishing, too. Something else to look into. Only peacock bass fishing I've done is in Miami - literally, IN Miami, in the canals. Surreal as hell. I heard gunshots twice while we were down there - just one day. Actually, we were heading to the Bahamas to go bonefishing there.

Look into the bonefish/permit fishing -- tarpon too -- if you have more than one day to fish. Enjoy!

Barracuda are a blast. I've caught snapper but mostly as a favor to the guides, so they've got dinner.

Bonefish are great - very visual fishing and they swim about 27 mph when hooked. Great fly quarry. Very easy to catch using live shrimp or crabs, but I'll say that the fly's the only real way to do it. ;)

If you've not caught 'cuda before you're in for a treat -- they go absolutely berserk.

Sounds like a great trip ... I'm sure you'll have a fun time.
Take plenty of pics so we can all live vicariously on your $60.
