  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

The Ashton does have plume on it it is not specs so no wrries there about fertilizer or whatver

My experience and professionalism you seem to question, I at least know that, when I write here is not a formal article nor do I worry about spell checking if that be the case I would be here forever ( i use 2 computes so it is easy to do several things at once) I leave messages, if everyone wants it to look professional and formatted well it is not going to happen with me, I wokr with two computers at once and do about 4 things at all times, so this does not have a lot fo priority to be PERFECT, i dont have an agenda I am just a normal cigar enthusiast that lieks to learn more, nor do i claim to know it all by being an editor, nor do I worry about what peopel think of me, I am a pretty mellow guy with a bunch of well respected friends and dont really care if any body wants to rag on me, humiliate me, or whatever, I am pretty good with myself. I run the publication as I see fit, I have had plenty fo criticism and really none that mattered more than the people i know and respect. If I amke a mistake it si a mistake, not the end of the world, not to be judged solely on nor do I care what you or any of the "brothers" think. I make mistakes learn and move on, if I am thought of as some high profile, should know it all, and if you amke a mistake your doomed bum, then I have wasted my time, it has not been too friendly here an dthis is my second attempt at posting here in about a year and I think I kind of left it alone because people wre so critical and i think as they call it pompous. Not saying everyone just the way a few portrayed themselves, and then I get letters for the moderators and what not, telling me not to do what exactly you are doing and several others before you seems to have done, so it really has me consfused, as to what is in the best interst of all or is ti just another click who get their jolly's on knowing it all and making sure that they let people know, sorry if this seems like an attack but it is a response, and the mdoerator siad if you want to respond to someone like this use the PM, but jeez, why couldnt you ahve and the ones who think it is okay to make jest of the fact someone made a mistake.
So in PUN i guess you called it ,, it doesnt really matter, does it.
never calimned to ba naexpert, that is what you and others want to lable me as or think that i refer myslef to, i am simply one who started an avenue to allow manufactures and others get the word out in a different manner, you see each and every interview or srticel I have wrote on anyone like Arturo Fuente Jr, HE personally edited and made sure the content was something he woudl approve of, not liek other magazines that take something and twist it and make thos ethey write about wonder how the hell did they come up with tht, ALL that I have written have been presonally eidted and confirmed by those they were about, and not all the articles were written by me, so I can't take real credit fo rmost of it, I just supplied the avenue that's all

I'm doubtful the Ashton is plume either. When you get plume it's not in one small spot on the cigar. I've heard of plants that were over fertilized ending up with conditions that will cause specs, even in an ash when it burns, but never a line like that. It looks like it's a raised area along a crease, so I'm tempted to think it came into contact with something.

Marccote, I understand why some of the brothers are questioning your legitimacy, not to rag on you, but I couldn't help but notice your spelling and grammar as an editor is a bit off center. I don't know if you've come here with an agenda or just to share and learn about a passion, but I'll tell you this. I don't consider myself a slouch when it comes to knowing cigars, but I am very careful about making declarative statements in here, because the knowledge and experience on this board can leave you humbled. I find it hard to point out something as simple as "No, that is quite obviously mold" because you've set yourself up as an expert with the fancy title. I hope you choose to lose the title and just be yourself around here, you would be surprised at who some of our members are, but they don't flaunt it.

Now, a little jab, because we are all friends here and I want to be able to talk to you like any other brother, with a bit of fun and the understanding that it's fare to jab back with a kind heart.

Dude, your B&M is ripping you off, you posted fake Cubans and mold as plum. It's not positive advertising for your magazine at this point anyway.

Smoke a good one and I'd lower the temp from 70 if it were me, I like closer to 65 to prevent mold and beetles, with no ill effect on the cigars. I'd also check your humidity with a calibrated hygrometer, to make sure you are not above 70% but don't realize it.

ok, in reference to my gold plume, i jsut thought of this...maybe those gold specs are form the cello. The cello is definitley very yellow and pretty brittle. not to the point that it falls apart, but maybe tiny little flecks of it have fallen onto the cigar thus creating the diped-in-gold-glitter illusion.

Hell, i don't know! SOmeone have a look at that thing when they get it and let me know what you think it is. As i've cleary confessed, in know what plume is but have never really been able to recognize it.

I'm startin to think plume is like a widget or a snipe.

Sorry if I offended, it wasn't my intent. We all have a fair laugh at ourselves around here, it was not intended as a slight on you or a joke at your expense.

Personally, I can't bust on people's spelling or grammar because mine is aweful. But, I do try to read my posts and make sure that the message isn't lost in the mess. I think that bit of advice would go a long way in this thread.

Let's see how it works, as this is just a blog I did not think that people would be so offended and out of tune if the message was not formatted and spelled correctly. I spent many of years putting messages on people s accounts at ATT and Qwest and we actually had to spell in short form to save disk space so I tend when doing messages that i think i believe do not have to be perfect in order for people to read them and understand the point. But if not being able to read and being offended because of that I will try a little harder and use a spell checker here.

For a blog spell checker it didn't have BLOG already in it as a specified word, seems like if you are going to make a spell checker for Blogs and on line material you would at least load them type abbreviates in them.

Not too bad besides the BLOG word, I had to add myself, thanks

This is not a blog. A blog is a website where one writes their own thoughts with very little to no interaction from the public. Basically setup for the reading enjoyment of others.

My point being, most people could care less about gammar/punctuation/paragraphs on a blog...if they don't care for it, they click that magic red X.

What some of the members are saying is that it is quite difficult to comprehand some of your posts due to the spelling and mostly for me, the lack of paragraphs. I, myself, have had to read through them a couple of times to make sure I am understanding what you are saying. Not a big deal on a blog but tends to be a hinderance on a website where someone has to reply to what you have said.

I think most here are saying that it would be a lot easier to reply to your comments/questions if they where able to more easily and fully understand your posts.
