  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Damnit, Not Again!

I am just continuing to what I do as well as I can
That's what sucks. There have been talks of layoffs for a couple months and it's been all the buzz at the shop, guys standing around talking and I mean for 15-20 minutes at a time, several times a day. Then there's me who NEVER got involved in those talks, and just kept my nose to the grindstone. Hell, I even got a nick name at work, WOW or Wide Open Wade as I just am working and going 100% of the time I'm there. And I get cut. Fuggers.

Sorry to hear about the layoff, Wade. I was just looking at another post of yours that said "I'm at home this morning" trying to figure out why. You were so excited about this new job I hardly figured it would end so quickly.

That's because the cuts have nothing to do with the type of employee we are most of the time.

I'm just making sure that if anyone is afforded the chance to consider cutting me or someone else that I have done everything within my power to ensure I am the best option to keep. There are very few things in our lives that we have the power to control so all we can do is work our best to ensure we are actually controlling those few things. But even then, shit happens.

Anyhow, if you and Josh meet up in Eau CLaire next week, give me a call.

Damn Wade. That sucks. I guess they found out the kind of folks who come to visit you. LOL

Dude, you need to take a trip a couple of hundred miles south and clear your head. I do a helluva pig pickin' every New Years Day. You need to saunter on down for some southern hospitality. And bring that pretty young thing that hangs around the DJ booth on sundays. LOL

Anything I can help with, holler.

Wow, I thought that this was an old thread. Sorry to hear about that Wade. Good luck in your search. The ecomony sucks, won't get better anytime soon, and we are all suffering. They are looking for flippers at McD's!:sarcastic

That made up the majority of it, however there were 35, 22 and two 17 year employees that got let go in the same meeting I was in. As bad as I feel for myself, I feel much worse for them, hell, Gus, the 35 year guy was 2 1/2 years away from retirement. What the heck is that guy gonna do now? :frownno:

He worked there for 35 years and they he wasn't vested in anything? Or does the company not offer a retirement package?
