  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Newbies since coming onto this board, what were you smoking then and what are u smoking now?

When I came onto the board, I was smoking Hoyo D'Monterey Excaliburs and Arturo Fuentas and occassional CAO

Now due to this board I have totally changed to: Tats, Red(my favorite),Tat Conojus, Toranos 1916, Vegas 5, Rocky Patel, Padrons, Perdomos, Spanish Galleons, Partagas(cc)series 2 and the beat goes on.

Thank you BOTL!!:smokingbo:clap:

Sounds very very similar there dpmrpa. i started out on a kulhua cigar, then shifted over to padrons, CAO golds, AF, and occidental reserves. Now im smokin usually CAO blacks, still padron, Tatuaje ( ive had the red label and 1 black), 5 vegas, and pepin. a change for the better in my opinion

I think I've just changed over to stronger & fuller cigars over time.
My tastes have definitely changed... Certain cigars just don't 'do it' for me lately, while others that I didn't care for before, well, now are my go-to sticks.
Former go-to's:
ESVs, La Aurora 1945, RP Edge, 601 Black...
Current:
DPG Black & Maduro, LFD DL, Illusione

Now that I think about it, I go through phases - Conneticut is great early on, but then I started to gravitate towards Maduro, Cameroon, then corojo, Habano... I don't know if there is any method to the madness, but my tastes seem to have a mind of there own...

Lately I've been digging alot of Maduro too.

I started out with CoRos, but never tried other stuff for that was good. Afterwards I finally started venturing to other brands and now I smoke anything that's good. Partagás, Montecristo and Bolivar for CCs; Tatuaje, DPG, Illusione for NCs.

I was smoking perdomos, trinidads, r&j's, & monti's. Now I smoke a lot of tats, illusions, & pepins. I love the pepin black & tat. Conoju 2006. I like a lot more fuller smokes now that I did before. A.J. you are to blame for this!

Oh you just suck, you have it so rough being able to just walk down to the nearest shop and smoke some killer CoRos. And all the other great CC's! I really feel for you bro! it must really be rough. :grinFU:

When I first started smoking two years ago, I started with Puros Indios and 5 Vegas Gold's. Since discovering cigar message boards, I then went head first into Nicaraguan tobacco. 98% of my humidor now contains Pepin blends (Tatuaje, DPG, Cabaiguan, etc.) and the other 2% consists of Padron and Arturo Fuente Anejos which I've never tried before.

Gotta admit though that since joining BOTL, the temptation to buy a box has more than doubled. I'm torn between a box of Noellas or a box of Cabaiguan Guapos 46. Decisions, decisions.

when i first started smoking cigars, I was smoking alot of Acid's... kuba kuba, nasty, 1400cc, etc. also smoked the occasional hemingway and a few of CAOs flavored line.

since i started hitting the boards and getting bombed by those which a much more refined palatte, i have been smoking pepin cuban classics, 5 vegas golds, lots of Opus X, padilla miami and signature, a few different alec bradleys and my standby favorite, camacho triple maduro.

guess you could say i've lost my taste for acid since then :smokingco

I was lucky enough to smoke with some seasoned smokers, so I was exposed to the goods early on. But, when left to my own devices I was smoking Partagas Blacks, SLR toros(nc) and fuente (sun grown) Robustos.

Open mindedness brought me to the world of Pepin. I was on the Pad. 8/11s for a while early on, but I do love most smokes from Nicaragura: Pepin, Tat, Oliva etc.

Before I joined here I was smoking HdM Excaliburs, HdM Traditions, Partagas Black and occasional Davidoff and CAO.

Now, mainly Tats (red especially), Oliva Vs, Padrons, CAO America and Brazilias, and Camacho. Much better and my tastes are still changing so I'm happy I'm here and have some many cigars to try.

Some of the first cigars I smoked were given to me so I was never exposed to crappy sticks. I too have also evolved into a more fuller smoke although the occasional light to medium is good also. I'm diggin the Pepin blends as well as the Fuente's although I have yet to try an Opus:halfgrinw
