Just got off the phone with them. Seems to be a stand up guy. He said they thought it was an official Photo from Pete.

I walked him through creating a username and he is in the process of contacting Justin via PM to work on getting permission to use the photo...

this thread actually has bummed me out.

seems there is alot more frustration and disingenuous acts by retailers than cheering at successes.

In this case I think it was a genuine misunderstanding. Justin's photo is just that good! The Smoke Inn truly believed it was an official photo. Speaks to the quality of Justin's work IMHO.

Once he was notified he immediately took the necessary steps. This gives me hope that there are good retailers willing to do what it takes to remain reputable.

Disclaimer: I am in no way connected with this shop.

Do they have a different picture up now? The one I see, I didn't know Justin did that one...

but yeah, what a bunch of crap. Even if the guy sounds genuine, no business can use pictures they just find for their business use without permission and/or paying for it. They know and understand this but just take chances of not getting caught. Oops, I got caught, play dumb...

Thank you! I called him about it maybe 2 min after you got off the phone. You are right, he does seem like a stand-up guy. I gave him permission to use the art and he said he would send out a little care package out for me. Thanks to everyone that was looking out for me on this. I think it was a misunderstanding between him and a new website designer he hired a couple months back. Either way it all worked out. Besides, its kinda cool to see your art on someones website :awholelot

But even then, shouldn't they be asking Tatuaje for permission to use it on their website? I guess it's possible being an official Tatuaje retailer allows use of official Tatuaje logos/graphics, but I would want to be sure of what I'm doing if I am a business owner putting stuff on my website.

Never mind, they put Justin's back up. Wow, they work fast over there! Glad you got things worked out and I hope your "care package" is a good one!

Well to get the thread back on track. I had a great experience with Tobacco World in GA. They put me on the list when I called and I got my product. They didn't jerk me around and for that a big:clap:

That's cool that they are making it up to Justin for using his art.

Their gimick on the other hand....Hmm.... BUY a box for a CHANCE to buy a box of Dracs or Boris. I think this is the worst deal yet.

FLADDED :grinFU:

I called around today to some of the additional retailers (all out of state from me). 6 out of 8 did not know they were getting them. 3 of them said I was the only one who has inquired about them and they took my name for the Boris. 2 seemed liked a strong + to selling me a box.

I am pretty sure calling the Primary and Secondary is useless at this point but it seems you will have some luck calling the additional retailers.

I am also finding that some of the additional retailers phone numbers have been disconnected. Not sure what to think of that yet...

Is he putting together a care package for me, since it was my photo of the cigar that Justin "borrowed" in the art piece?

LOL!

:)
