Heard today that there are negotiations going on between Padron and Davidoff. From I what I was told Davidoff is making a large attemp to buy Padron Cigar. Very interesting...pretty good source but still a rumor.

This would complete their triangle - the DR, Honduras (camacho) and then Nicaragua...

I don't think I'd wanna see Padron taken in by another company... And I do doubt that it's something that's gonna happen! The Padron family is pretty involved in its business, and they do well enough alone... why merge with someone if you are doing alright as a stand alone?

Everyone has their price... I'm sure Pete does, too. But, the thread is what I heard about Padron and Davidoff. It seems the future of this business is the large buying up the small. Padron is not that large of a company and if they sell that doesn't mean the family would no longer be active in the cigars and the way they are made.

they should sell if its an assets/trademarks deal and they dont have to sign a non-compete.

they could then still make smokes, just not under the padron name.
