is totally getting under my skin... really, he's like reeds under my finger nails. He is the gung-ho, super hero, let's save the world kind of guy and this is (was, rather) a very relaxed atmosphere....

Yeah, I'm not diggin it... :shame: :shame:

Is he new? If so you can hope he's just trying to make a big splash, and he'll eventually calm down...

Whoops, asked that thinking you might be the new guy in this situation. Didn't read your initial post closely enough.

Give him time, some of my best bosses started out as pains in the ass.

That's kind of annoying, I can see the frustration. Maybe he's just taking that tack since he's the new boss. Hopefully he'll mellow out a bit when he gets to know the people and shop a bit more.

My wife's got a new commander at her hospital, and he's going for the "Let's whip this place into shape" mode she thinks, lol. Hopefully it's just establishing the position and not a promise to be annoying all the time!

This is, indeed, the case! The worst part is that it seems like he has the best of intentions and really feels like he is taking care of us, but he doesn't realize that he's stressing us out! It's not like he's trying to let us know he's in charge, but that he's over the top about "taking care of us"

give him a cigar. if he takes it, you might have a new friend. if he refuses, you may have to dispose of him...
I may very well try this!

Stroke, we are in the same boat... my boss is an idiot, she doesn't know how to use a computer (she claims she worked in IT, as what a gopher for Mtn Dews) one day she tells us to do one thing another day she jumps on us for doing it that way and says to do it this way. She has not learned what wed do in the training dept. yet when we get SOPs that do not pertain to us she forwards them to us and asks how we can incorporate it into training. She can't tell anyone No we are busy lets put this on the calendar so we are constantly under the gun to get one thing or the other trained to the floor. Though she can't say know, she does know how to treat you like a child and make it impossible to have any direction. It's worse but I am doing this before work and I am just getting aggravated doing this...

I am stressed, under duress and it has affected my appetite... but the economy is bd and there is nothing else out there. I have worked here going on 4 years and since she started in Nov. life has been hell.

Monday she got ticked and me and told me "Come with me right now, I told her no I am not her child, he reply tough do it now. Needless to say we ended up knee deep in shit, I let her have it...

She was in an mentally abusive marriage for 35 years, his name was Jim, so there are two strikes, she is twisted in the head from that in her past and my name is Jim too. I am screwed.

Sorry didn't mean to thread jack.

Update: he's worse than I imagined... Total moron... I type a report every night of what happened at work and he (well, his assistant rather, but I figured he's responsible for being in the know...:scratchhe) gets it every morning. A copy later gets sent to his supervisor and his supervisor's supervisor (THE man). So anyway, (trying not to go into detail) we had a situation a couple weeks back that was not really a big deal at all. We handled it and the problem was solved. I wrote it in the report, no biggy right? They all get it, they'll see that it happened. Apparently that's the wrong answer; 5 days later they found out about it and wanted to know why I didn't tell them? :hammersma So I've been called in on days off, having to do extra work, etc. because we failed to report it. It's MY fault that they didn't read the report they were provided. keep in mind, this was not a serious situation (at face-value, but apparently it is a big deal to someone...). Dude is a total goober...
