So, after some deliberation I decided to purchase my first box of cigars. It arrived today, and looks awesome, so I thought I would share some pictures here. It's a box of DPG Series JJ Maduro Selectos.

I have a few questions.
Is it okay to just put the new box in the humidor or is there something I should do first? I saw the post about beetles and people freezing their cigars before putting them in to play with everyone else. Is this something I should be concerned about? Thanks for the help.

Also, for those who are wondering, Yes, I got it off Cbid. :(

As for full boxes, I just take the cello off the cigars and put the whole thing in the cabinet. Singles, I just remove the cello and place them in the humi... Try not to let it get too complicated.

Congrats on the first box... Mine was Camacho 1962 torpedo. Still a favorite.

Congrats on your first box. The slope gets more slippery from here.

I don't take mine out of the cello. I find it keeps them in better condition if your like me and always want what's at the bottom of your humi. As for the box ofyour hunk has room there fine just sticking the whole box in there. I take mime out just to make room... but I don't have a cooler or vinotemp or anything. Just a few humidors. But I agree, keep it simple, no need to get complicated.

Congrats on the box....you'll be playing tetris soon. If you keep the cigar in a place that is 70 degrees or below you shouldn't have a beetle problem.

Congrats on that first box purchase my friend, it can be the hardest sometimes but it is all down hill from now on.

I too love the DPG JJ's but prefer the Natties myself! :cbig:

Congrats! I'm trying to decide on what box I want too.

I just got a box of 5 Vegas Golds, but I don't count those since they're just for a cheap, daily smoke.

I just grabbed a 5er of the JJ maduros. Looking forward to trying them. Congrats on the box purchase!
They're definitely a tasty stick.. They smoke longer than you'd expect to, at least the one I had did.

Thanks all, I'm very excited.

Larry, thank you very much sir, I haven't tried the Naturals, but fell in love with the Maduros.

Mutombo, Yea, I saw Atlanticcigar had some really good prices on the 5 packs, half off the second 5er so that was good, but I got a better deal on the box. :)

Ryan, not planning on freezing, I'm pretty confident that the humidor will keep things nice and safe.

Cello has been discussed countless times. My honest opinion though, I would rather hand someone a stick with cello on so that is why I keep it on.
