Whadda y'all like?

Saw a thread for Christmas drinks, and thought us beer lovers might be able to share some good ones.

Been drinking a bunch of Sierra Nevada Celebration this year, and truly loving it.

Currently drinking a Ninkasi Sleigh'r Double Dark Ale.....pretty good, but not great.

Last year I was able to experience my first ever Corsendonk Christmas Ale thanks to AR (Angelo), and as I recall, that stuff was amazing.

So.......what brews are the BOTL drinking??

(this thread inspired by the local Holiday brew fest going on in downtown Portland OR right now....which I need to try and make it to).

Give me a big bad RIS for Christmas. I don't typically like "Christmas" beer because they're either too sweet or have too much spice. A lot of them lack balance or have something just off about them.

Schlafly Christmas
Sierra Nevada Celebration
Samuel Smith Winter Welcome
Rogue Santa's Private reserve
Highland cold mountain

Like those 4. My wife gave me Sierra Nevada celebration and Sam Smith WW with CAO Criollo bomba's as a Christmas gift 4 years ago as my real intro to cigars after reading a blog on best winter beers with cigars. I've always been a beer knurd. That started my obsession with the leaf.

The winter welcome is my favorite Winter seasonal I think. but the Sierra Nevada + CAO Criollo combo is pretty darn good

Cheers

Gonna do a little Mini Micro Brew Fest w/ some friends (Costacoug being one of em').

Gonna sample some IPA's, Stouts, and Holiday/Seasonals. Pretty sure we'll smoke some great sticks, and most likely end up feelin' purdy good. Mix in some football (ok, A LOT of football), and it should make for damn find Saturday I think....Sunday might suck a little bit though!..LOL! :bottle:

Rude Elf's Reserve brewed by Fegley's Brew Works. Its a Spiced Belgian Ale, and a 10.5%abv it puts a HOHO in your holiday. I had planned to brew a batch of my Belsnickle's Reserve but things didn't work out quite as well as I had planned.

Bought a couple 6-packs of the SN Celebration. I really like it. That is the only holiday beer I've seen so far. Gonna havef to go to Spec's and look for different stuff this week.

Young's Double Chocolate stout FLOAT! With Vanilla bean ice cream! YUM, I had one last night. My wife loves them too, even more than I do.

Don't really have a favorite, but did some sampling with the father in law last weekend and Shiner's Holiday Cheer was a pretty tasty brew. Brewed with peaches and pecans.

The winners:

Holiday/Seasonal: Full Sail Wreck the Halls
IPA: Stone Ruination IPA blew the others outta the water!
Stout/Porter: Old Viscosity hands down winner.....even when competing against Deschutes Brewery "the Abyss"...

If you drink any of those "winners", u should be plenty happy!

Drink & Smoke a good one folks!!
