Well with all this new technology I have tried quite a few balls as of the last 6 months. From the new TM pentas to Callaways tour i(s) to the Bridgestone B330. But every time I go back to the Pro V. I have even tried the Pro V1x and its not as good for me. For my swing speed the Pro V has more distance than the others I have hit, 3 to 7 yards on avg and I have way more control on the greens. So what Ball are you playing these days?

Just recently started playing a Taylormade Penta TP.....and I'm a fan. Of course it doesn't hurt my buddy has a Taylormade hookup and I got em' for $18/box (50-60% off).

I prefer to play the Bridgestone 330 but typically stick with the e7 due to price. Found the e7's for $15 a doz so I stocked up :)

Whatever is the best special when it comes time to buy a couple new boxes. I tend to lose them quite often. Think its Slazengers right now. 48 for $25

Pro V1. Though, I have a bunch of Titleist NXT Tours that I've been playing lately.

Whenever I visit my girl's parents house, her dad hooks me up with a shoebox full of Pro V1s and Callaway Tours. He's retired and just collects golf balls every time he plays (about 4-5 days a week). Not a bad deal at all!

Tried them all. Can't get the feel you get from a ProV1. X for me.

Have been playing golf for 45 years and have talked with caddies and players alike. The real story is that unless your handicap is at least a 5 you're just not going to get very much "play" from what you think is all about the ball you are playing. The real story is how soft or hard the ball is...soft for holding the greens and hard for getting distance. Anything else you're just wasting your money. When you are on the green change out your ball.

That would be violation of the rules. :nono:

Whatever the cheapest ones are. I am not really good at golf, so I don't want to spend extra money when I can't hit the ball good to begin with.

ON THE PUTTING GREEN

The only way that you can substitute a different ball during the play of a hole (between tee-off and holing out) is if the ball is deemed unfit for play (visibly cut, cracked or out of shape). Rule 5.3 Trust me...I have used Rule 5.3 every time I am on the green and will change out a ball that I know putts better than others. By the time I get to the green I have put at the very least a small cut from my iron play on the ball.
Other rules below:

You may repair ball marks and old hole plugs on the line of your putt but not any other damage, including spike marks.

You may mark, lift and clean your ball on the putting gre·en. Always replace it on the exact spot.

Don't test the putting surface by scraping it or rolling a ball over it.

Ball played from putting green strikes flagstick - in match play you lose the hole; in stroke play you incur a two-stroke penalty.

I'm a cheap bastage...I love pro V's but hate the price tag. Lately I've been using Srixon z-star x's from last year. Only because I can get them for $29 a dozen.
