The wife bought a new "instant pot" pressure cooker. You could say it's the opposite of a slow cooker in that it speeds up the cooking process. Tonight we had General Tso's chicken along with asparagus (done separately in a steamer).

The chicken only took about 20 minutes total with cooking time being just over 10 minutes of that.

Cooking times are really fast and the food is outstandingly tasty. I thing it must have something to do with the process in that it keeps things very moist and flavorful.

Is an instant pot similar to a can cooker?

Yes but its electric. it's got electronic controls so you can do all sorts of neat stuff like sauté, make gravy and sauces or cook for a certain amount of time and then have it automatically go to warm when done cooking.

I think the wife said it was $129 at target.
