Sad to say I may not have a cigar and at least expensive alcohol budget for the near future. My wife most likely will be staying home with the kids for a while so will be on a single income. It's awesome and stressful at the same time. I'm so happy she will get to spend more time with them and keep them out of daycare but we will be on a tight budget just to minimize the amount we will be in the red each month. We have already trimmed som fat and cut our bills down about as much as we can but we are still going to have to work hard to minimize the loss. Luckily we have plenty saved so we will be fine. Needless to say though won't be buying cigars other than maybe the occasional 1 or 2 that I can get away with from the B&M and going the more budget route where alcohol is concerned. I have enough cigar inventory that I can manage especially since I typically only smoke 1-2 a week. It's definitely hard to cut back when you've been accustomed to a certain lifestyle.
This all comes on the heels of me getting converted to a federal employee from a contractor and will finally have decent benefits for the fist time in 3 years.

Good luck! We made that decision after our first kid, and it was the best decision we ever made for our family. It sucks being on one income, but there are more important things in life than accumulating stuff. And after while, you get used to budgeting, making due, selling stuff, etc to make it work. "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without" is our slogan. I sell what I can here and there to supplement my minimal hobbies. You'll figure it out, and your kids will be so much better off for it.

Basically the same here. Why should I get a job to pay someone else to have all the fun with Theo? Kind of a dream job, hanging with him all day.

Very respectable decision. Investing in your kids when they are young will pay dividends for life. She may be able to find some work from home. My sister makes hair bows and accessories for kids and bracelets and stuff for women. I have a cousin that keeps busy at home making knit beanies and scarfs other cool stuff. With the internet the possibilities are almost endless.

Yeah. She's talked about maybe finding something to do part time or something. Will probably be a while though. With 2 under 2 we don't have much spare time to do anything.
