I've been shaving with a straight for years but today t'was my first shave with my first and brand new DE razor. I was quite pleased.

Razor: Merkur HD 34C
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Soap: D. R. Harris "Marlborough" worked in a Dirty Bird scuttle
Brush: Rooney "Super Silvertip" Model 1, size 2
Aftershave: Gucci Guilty after shave balm
Cologne: Gucci Guilty pour Homme EDT

One pass each WTG, XTG, and ATG got me to almost BBS. I've just got to work on my technique in a couple tricky spots on my throat.

Never tried a slant before. What's the verdict? (Not that I'd switch up from the straight, just curious).
I've used it about 10 times now and I like it. Super efficient. Serious audible feedback. Two pass baby-bottom smooth. Fairly aggressive and easy to nick if you're not careful, so it requires a like touch with little pressure. Well worth the $20z

Nice looking morning shave. How's that shave soap? I like tallow soaps but I've never had one with Shea. Handsome razor, too.
Thanks, I've had this CRSW soap for about a year now. Excellent lather and scent and skin feel. I was lucky enough to purchase the razor from the WolfmansRazors website. The BEST razor I own hands down.
