BAHAHAHA!!!! So, since everyone is posting links but no one is clicking on them to see what they are, we are ALL basically saying get one of these lighters from Eagle Jet! :)

I also have one too. I paid a few bucks for it at a local smoke shop and I think most of the time it works better than other lighters I spent a lot more money on. In fact, when I travel this one usually comes with me since it’s cheap and can easily be replaced if lost.

I had 2 I purchased for $2.00 each at Christmas Tree Shops a few years ago. Since they were my go to’s while I smoke in my truck, one succumbed to a heat related injury when I accidentally left it on the hot seat in the summer in my truck and the other just crapped out earlier this year. They were the best bang for the buck. Now I can’t find them in the store anymore. They probably went “smoke free” like the local CVS’s here in NY.

Thanks guys...I'm wondering if it's the fuel since both lighters malfunctioned after it... I didn't think that could matter so much. I've been purging and refilling and it doesn't seem to matter....do you guys purge them EVERY time you refill it or just occasionally?

Xikar Butane and purge every time, along with canned air to blow out any debris.
I've had my lighter for over 5 years. Now that's a record for me. I've only had to send it back once.
Hope that helps try the above if it doesn't work, simply send it back

Every time for me as well. If I don't do it, I start to get failures to ignite and sputtering/self-extinguishing flames after a couple fills.

Purge every time I fill. Another thing is that I always fill when I am done having a cigar so the lighter has time to rest before I use again. Nothing but problems when trying to use a lighter that has just been filled.

Check to make sure the igniter has not been pushed off center. If it has the spark will ground itself out and not light because it’s sending the spark straight to the side of the lighter. You can use a machinist screw driver to re center the igniter pin.
Test #2
Take another lighter and see if it ignites the non working lighter. If it doesn’t or tries to light but won’t stay lit. You have a plugged line or two going from the tank to the head.
