Anyone else out there share the joy of car audio?

Currently rocking an Alpine Type R in a single bandpass box, a 1500w class D Hifonix Zeus amp, and a 6" Dual double din in a 2002 S10.

Also Rockford Fosgate 6.5" surrounds in the dash and doors with Dynamat behind all the trim panels.

What's your setup?

The setup I had in my Yukon was a Jensen 7.5 flip out, amped with a power acoustics 800w to the powerbass component 6 1/2's in the front and rear doors, pb 6x9's in individual boxes under the back seat, a powerbass 5 1/4 component center channel (in a custom box molded into the console), 3 pairs of tweeters, and 2 carbon fiber MP 15's in a glassed, single port box, amped with a power acoustics 3000D with a cap and optima yellow top.. hitting 147 on the dash!
Oh I miss that truck! Now I'm just running a crappy Kenwood with PB components in my single cab Chevy..

I can only imagine how loud that was LMAO. I sat in an Avenger years ago that was hooked up like your old Yukon and the lows had such high SPL that it literally made your eyeballs vibrate at about 1/3 volume.

I used to have two 10" kicker subs in my Silverado years ago. As i got older tho i began to hate really loud music. OEM systems suffice now :)

I believe @nc_6789 has two 12" kicker subs in this honda civic and they make his trunk door rattle like crazy
I get it. I find myself more focused on quality than extreme block pounding bass anymore, but I will forever enjoy loud music. I'm gonna be 60, pull up next to some 18-22 year old with his windows down, stock stereo turned all the way up, listening to whatever garbage that generation will think is music, and then I'm gonna have to drop it on him, LMAO.

I've gotten nose bleeds from it while at comp.. but the best thing is the fact it was a dirty, jacked up, redneck's 4x4.. nobody ever expected the system! Lol.. I've made ppl turn their thug music off at red lights by turning my amps on and out beating them to Disturbed.. that was always a great laugh! Lol

My CTS had a nice stock setup - I kept the head unit and the surrounds for a good while, just added a line output converter and a couple 12" Infinity Reference connected to a 1000w older Audiobahn, and it worked great for most of my ownership. I eventually dropped in a touchscreen and redid all the wires, of course, but that's another story, haha.

My old truck was setup pretty well but my new (now 5 years old) truck has decent audio from the stock setup. I added an 8" elemental designs (long out of business) subwoofer under the back seat to add a little depth. I'm pretty happy with the setup.

Stock / OEM stuff has gotten so much better over the past 10-15 years, but even with a factory subwoofer, the depth in the bass isn't there. An 8" is perfect to add that missing element, and not blow your eardrums / take up too much space.

Some days I miss my old car audio setups and then other days I look at all the crap I have under the back seat of the truck and am happy to have the room back. My truck is all setup for the Amps behind the back seats but I just don’t want to give up the space for the subs. I just have a couple RFs in the stock location on a Soundstream amp. In my Blazer I used to have a competition setup with two 12s and a 1200 Watt Cadence Amp and a set of Focal comps in a custom kickplate. I miss it some days

Currently I’m running a pair of Focal PS165FX’s in my doors bi-amped on a JL XD400/4, and two JL 12TW3’s each run off their own XD600/1 amplifier. Source unit is a Kenwood DDX9903. All this in a single cab 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. Not the loudest system in the world, but it jams, and sounds killer too.

I used to have that same head unit, double DIN touchscreen motorized blah blah blah, it took a dump on me and after I got it repaired I got rid of it. Running a junk Dual head unit currently hooked to a 1000W amp and a Type-R DVC single sub in a ported box. All RF internals (dash / doors), Dynamat, blah blah blah. Not quite “pound your brains out” but it does what I need it to.

I figure I’ll be 65 and still hitting them lows.

I haven’t had anything in a while. In my superduty I custom molded a Kenwood Double DIN in the dash, stippled and painted like factory. It came with unknown (I believe alpine) door and rear speakers. I’d love to add two 8” subs behind the rear seat, as that’s all I need these days to round out the sound quality and add a little bass.
In my old blazer Xtreme I had a few setups, but my favorite was all JL audio. 12W7 in a JL box, I forgot the amp and cap size but the damn thing would make the hair on your arms and neck stand up.
After I sold that I ended up missing the bass and had a big box with 3 12” Kicker Comp CVRs. Not quite as tight as the JL but definitely loud. Cracked the box in half haha.
