So I bought the two of these off ebay from a lady on eBay - just under 10 bucks with shipping.
Does anyone recognize this logo? Perhaps an old logo for Davidoff, St Dupont, Dunhill?
She said her father had told her they were silver and from dunhill.
Having bought plenty of vintage dunhill products, I'm pretty confident its not dunhill - given that its not stamped on the underside and the D circle logo looks nothing like any dunhill logo I've seen used over the past hundred years (not a lot of logo evolution). It's also not stamped with any of the silver markings, so I'm not sure what metal it is - but for $10 bucks its still two great ash trays for keeping at the office and in the travel-humidor.

IMG-6196.JPGFor what its worth, this is what they look with a quick toothpaste clean up... it looks like they were plated with something, maybe silver? as one of them has some spots on the underside were the outerlayer has chipped or peeled off in very small portions.

That “D” looks like Dupont to me.

As for metal material, they make acid test kits for cheap online, or take it into your local jeweler and see if he or she would be willing to do the acid test for a couple bucks.

I agree it looks very close to the dupont D, but for the life of me I definitely have found logos for them over the decades and the d's swirly shit changing, but nothing that lines up w/ this D, or that has the D enclosed in like a greek leaf.

For Further clarity, in the photo they look like they could be big, but its just slightly bigger than a beer coaster, definitely pressed sheet metal, but the rests are definitely the perfect size for a cigar, which makes them an ideal size to tiss in mthe side of my car door, or a travel humidor.
