I have a humidor at my shop and I have been contemplating putting in a hepa filter unit to filter particulates and keep the air clean. Has anyone tried this in a commercial humidor and if they have does it work against a humidifier and pull humidity out of the air.

I was just curious if anyone had any opinions and input.

I think most Hepa filters have a charcoal layer with the purpose of removing odors and aromas. That's the best part of a shop is the aromas in the humidor.
Not sure what kind of dust you are concerned about, are you smoking in the humidor or is it just something a fan with an allergy type filter can handle. A lot cheaper

I think it would depend entirely on the filter media and if I would absorb air or just move it through, but what are you trying to filter out though? I thought it was super clean when I was there, hell even the lounge was tidy and smoke free

I honestly just thought it would be a good prevention for mold spores and any particulates that might ever cause an issue. It's more of a prevention but I may be overthinking it.

I built a 8’x8’x10’ walk-in at my house and knock on wood have not had any bad smell or mold issues since I built it all those years ago because I keep my temps at 63-65 and the humidity at 65%. Above this and then you will run into the problems you are trying to solve with the air filter.

I probably won't ever have this issue but I was just thinking it may not hurt. I keep the shops humidor pretty close to that which is rare for our area. I know most of the shops around me is like walking into a rain forest except a few of us.

Honestly rex with that being an old vault your only point of entry is the shop door, the rest im sure is sealed tight. So maybe just filter the shop? I would be worried about it pulling the humidity out, but maybe if you let the filters acclimate in the humidor before running it would be ok?
