War - All Day Music
The title track from this album is one of the iconic songs from my long ago youth.
Great tune....album....and band!

I listened to some War (including the Eric Burdon one) earlier tonight, then I felt the urge to hear some of the least regarded of the Beatles. Maybe I just root for the underdog, but I sure like him.

Just back from my daughter's last stock show in Austin. High 60's, bluebonnets starting to bloom. Beautiful part of the state. Not sure any non Texan would "feel" this red dirt song, but it's beautiful to this lifelong Texan.

Foghat - Energized
Nothing like some mid-70s English rock. Really enjoyed Rod Price on slide guitar.

Man, RIP Lonesome Dave and Price. I used to listen to their Live album and Mott's Live @Hammersmith album constantly.
Meanwhile, I just listened to this.. Impressive.

Cool to hear there's some Foghat fans here. First time I heard Rod's riffs and solos on "Driving Wheel", I was a fan. Foghat was also my first rock concert ever at age 15....2nd row center at the Amphitheatre in Chicago. My ears rang for days. I remember Craig MacGregor rockin' the base mon on "I Just Wanna Make Love to You"...he passed last year as well. And I could one of Roger Earl's drumsticks. Still have it in a box, somewhere.

Wow, at least 3 Foghat fans! Nightcap smoke so may as well continue with:
Foghat - Fool For The City
Somewhere, rolled up in a long plastic tube is a 48”x48” store promo poster of this album. Used to work in a record store and we’d get these large posters to either hang in the store or in the windows. Took an extra one home. The picture of Roger Earl “fishing” is a classic shot!

Chris Stapleton - Traveller
Heard Chris’ version of “Tennessee Whiskey” for the first time a couple nights ago so inspired by that and Icehog3’s post, decided to give CS a longer listen. Still far so good.

Eric Clapton - 461 Ocean Boulevard (Deluxe Edition)
I remember when this album hit the store I was working in. Immediately slit one open, turned up the volume and put it on. Midway through “Motherless Children”, the store manager came into our department and told me to turn it down. Begrudgingly did what he said (sigh). Guess he didn’t realize it was Clapton’s first studio album in 4 years. :banghead:
Happy Belated 74th Birthday EC!
