Attended my counties Whiskey event this afternoon. Tasted some Barrel Dovetail and Batch 9. Both good but not spending $110 ea. Tried the Legent, interesting but fizzled out quick and finish just left me hanging. Attended an EC seminar. Tasted through the 8 and 8 year PS’s, small batch and B519. The 8 year was my winner of the 2 PS’s. Seemed to be the consensus. The 9 was just too close the small batch. Tasted the 2 BT, 1792, and Blanton’s picks.
Palate is a little fried so just having a reg BT now.

Revisiting this
Any better then before? I found mine to be too hot, and when adding water it was still pretty hot but muted the flavor. It could definitely stand to age another year or 2 in the cask, which would help. Anyone I talk to that’s tried Stagg Jr seems to have similar experiences lol

Long day yesterday detailing a clients car. So after about 8 hours it was time for a cigar & an excuse to use my new Stanley/Filson flask. This thing is very innovative; it has a gasket with inner threads. I’ve never seen anything like it before. First fill was the rest of my Old Forester Single Barrel, and it ate it all up like a champ. Anyway enjoy the pictures:

$50 well spent paired along with a Joya Red (my new favorite budget stogie). Here’s a link for the flask if anyone is interested. It comes with a double lifetime warranty:

My labor of love. 1987 Ferrari 328 GTS. Just wanted to share it with you guys. Been working on her body (lol) for about 15 years now. 32 years old, 58,000 miles and you wouldn’t even know it.

It was much better, still hot, but once I added a few drops of water it was pretty delicious in my opinion

It definitely has potential if only Buffalo Trace would listen to their audience and age it a little while longer. I’d even be in favor for cutting the release down to 2 batch releases a year and dare I say, raising the price $10 if that would help.

The 122 proof is the lowest they've done on ECBP, and is B519

Both fantastic bottles, @icehog3. The EC just showed up last week in KC, and we seem to be swamped with it. It's never been this plentiful...
Interesting, didn’t even think about inspecting the proof and cross referencing it with the batch number. So that must mean that my B518 was a long standing leftover. Weird as it saw prime placement in the case almost the entire time

I didnt do anything complicated other than recognize an irregular proof that was familiar because i just bought one...

Sometimes the distributor has some left in the warehouse, or maybe the distillery still had some in their warehouse. Never know which batch may be delivered.

Nice! Had the 4RSB and it was pretty good. Hope you enjoy both. Picture is a little blurry on my iPhone, does that say B517?
As @gurgalunas said, it is B519. They had numerous bottles, every single one of them was 122 proof. I remembered seeing a couple 135 proof in the thread, so I was looking for something higher if they had it, but wasn't going to pass it up since I was in the store.

I had actually sampled the Four Roses the night before, at a restaurant. While I knew that barrels will vary, I opened this one tonight and was pleased, tasted just like the pours in the restaurant. There were 3 bottles on the shelf, two different barrels.

Yes, they had plenty of it at our local big chain, and this is one of their smaller stores...so I wonder if the big one near me has a different batch? I guess I have a trip to make.
