I hear that release might’ve been the best one yet. I’ve had a glass of it and can concur.
Several of the bourbon review sites say that as well, but I'm more excited to hear it from you. Looking forward to cracking it this week. I did get to my other new bottle last night, and I can see why several guys here steered me towards it. Thank you all! :giggle:

Thanks man, I’m honored to hear you say that. I’ll have to be on the lookout for a bottle now. Although next months haul is already spoken for. I have a rare opportunity to own all of my Top Five whiskies at one time, with the purchase of #5. I say “rare” because 3 of them are allocated.

1. GTS
2. WLW
3. Booker’s
4. Willett Family Estate Rye
5. Knob Creek Single Barrel

How was the Yellowstone? Looks like you cracked one of the ECPS’s as well. Which one and what’d you think?

The Yellowstone is good but as of now, not as good as last years which was amazing. I’ve only had one pour though, so it’s a little early to judge.

I have since tried both ECPS; first the 8yr and then the 10yr. The descriptions they provided are pretty accurate.

The 8 really does have a delicate feel to it, light but not in same way that some bourbons like Basil Hayden seem kind of thin (no offense to those dig Basil Hayden). Had some nice sweet notes that made me think honey (maybe this is just because that was in the write up). It also had a little of a graham cracker type note to it. Nose, to me, is honey and vanilla.

The 10 has a nose more of oak and brown sugar. Definitely has a heavier feel than the 8 and probably than regular but I have nothing to compare it to at the moment. Notes of caramel, oak, and brown sugar stand out in a much more noticeable way than the notes in the 8 year.

I’d say I like the 10 better than the 8, but the 8 surprised me more. Seeing it described a delicate, I was worried the 8 might be lacking in flavor but that wasn’t the case. Both were delicious and made for a fun comparison as I poured a little in shot glasses while writing this.

Edit: once I have more of the Yellowstone, I’ll be able to report back some more thoughts on it.

I don’t really drink Scotch, because Kentucky Bourbon and Rye is more fun I guess lol, however I do quite enjoy this one out of all that I have sampled (20 I think). At $34.99 and Single Malt, it’s a tough one to beat. I find I like the Lowlands the best.
Anyways I thought I would be a troublemaker and post it here lol

Update: it’s 1:50am, have tomorrow (well technically today) off and decided I’d invite a little Irish to the party. My all time favorite; SLANE. Drinks like Bourbon and was only $27. In my current collection I like to keep one Irish and one Scotch, gives me an excuse to utilize my neglected glassware. My Glencairn above and my FBI Tumbler that my sister bought me when she interned with them.

Went to a few stores looking at what was new today. Came across two stores that each had a single bottle of George T. Stagg. $549 at the first, and $699 at the second. Suffice it to say I did not come home with a new bottle today.

Guy at the first store told me he sold a bottle of Van Winkle 10 year yesterday for $549 as well.

I don’t know how people willing pay that with the intention of non-collectible purposes, especially considering it will eventually get pissed out of you in a lesser then appetizing form

Definitely discouraging for a "drinker" like me who buys bourbon to drink and cigars to smoke.

A pour within my budget/means last night.

Thanks Jeremy @Glassman , I'll definitely give this a go, hopefully I can find it in a bar and try it before deciding to buy.

I did laugh at the first reply on the review though....

Joe says:

I just had this bourbon last night and stumbled into your review this morning, and have to say that you are completely full of shit. NO ONE could detect those 12 tastes and odors that you describe in your review.

Hahaha, the over tasting has gotten so common I think I just completely gloss over it anymore except when it’s just hilariously over the top.
