What's new
  • I've said this before - but this is just a reminder. I'll be breaking BOTL over time in order to get it into a far better place. Just be patient if you can't reach us! We'll be back

What are you listening to?

Earlier this week I brought home 3 boxes of CDs from our storage locker. Of course the wifey wasn’t all that pleased with more “junk” but I told her that 9 years away from home was l-o-n-g enough. Lotta great (…at least to me…) artists. I’ll be ripping and making a few comp discs:

Little Feat - the Lowell George era
Nils Lofgren
Graham Parker
Poco

Will also be able to finish up some stuff I started years ago but been waiting to retrieve the albums in storage.

Elton John
Van Morrison

Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Trilogy

Edit: Didn't learn my lesson the first time. This was their most successful album and the critics seemed to have loved these guy but they’re still not my cup of tea.

Albert King The Best of Albert King

Saved the night.

Time for some Lowell George-era Little Feat:

The Last Record Album

Waiting for Columbus (Deluxe 2-CD set) - arguably the greatest live album...evah! Definitely Top 5 for me.

My Grandpa (actually my dad's step dad) loved that Little Feet album. When I was a teenager he would play it on Saturdays as we drove to the car wash. I was a young knuckle head and didn't understand why he liked it so much. As I got older I started to get it, but for me it was the horns on Spanish Moon and Mercenary Territory. I have spent many nights, since his passing, driving entirely too fast and listening to that album entirely too loud.
