• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    0-0 Third Period

B's will take it if the Lightning players (other than Roloson) don't start playing. Killing me here.

    Least favorite vitola?

Churchills. Don't care for the big, fat, long cigars...as it seems many here have said as well. It's not so much the length, I love lanceros and a good lonsdale now and then, but I just don't care for really big RG cigars, especially when they are long as well. I still like a good Robusto...

    Bands (updated)

Toss 'em. I'd prefer to keep the nicer ones, but they would just gather dust.

    Smoking jackets: In or out?

LMAO! Yeah, yeah. That was my way of saying "This thread is pointless without PICTURES!" :cbig:

    Smoking jackets: In or out?

I don't care what the poll says, "OUT". 6 pages and over 200 responses and not one single picture of someone in their smoking jacket.

Left my cigars in my car...

If the tupperware container was air tight then they should be fine. Maybe a tad dry depending on how big the tupperware container is, but not that much. Just keep 'em in the tupperware. Or, as has already been suggested, go ahead and smoke them as your next two cigars.

    La Casita Criolla Release Date?

Don't know the date, but I seem to remember hearing July.

Help on looking for CC's with this taste profile.

Tom, how important is the size of the cigar? You mention both size and flavor profile in your original post. And I don't know of any LGCs that are anywhere near the size of a Trini RE. If size isn't all that big of a consideration, I would look into the Trini Coloniales. Still a decent sized...

    Storage help

Who needs 3 wine coolers for WINE? Seriously, that's a tough one. You could look into getting a couple of drawers to store the cigars in as singles if you are storing half filled or less boxes? Transitioning them to ziplocks is one idea, but you probably risk some damage that way.

Tampa Memorial Day Golf 'n Smoke

One last desperation attempt. I have a Memorial Day party to go to Sunday afternoon, but other the schedule is open.

    Fort Myers here

Welcome aboard. Just a tad bit north of you in Tampa. You both are welcome to come on up to Tampa this weekend, especially if you golf. :smokingbo

    Hygrometers and Calibrating

Let everything sit there for at least 24 hours undisturbed. Even better would be 48 hours. Even Even better, get everything in a small tupperware-style container and let it sit for 48 hours. My guess is you will find out that yes, the hygroset is out of calibration and you will need to adjust...

Help on looking for CC's with this taste profile.

Hmmmm...that's tough. I don't have enough experience with a number of the Marcas to speak for them, but the only line that tastes similar to Trinis is Cohiba to me. And I know plenty will argue that point as well. I'll let others chime in though as I'm not good at detecting individual notes...

    The Magic Box

I hope all the smokes going in the box are cellophane wrapped! That's going to be one PAWED THROUGH box.

    One handed cigar cutters?

Most cigar cutters are one handed in that you only use one hand to cut...or am I missing something? Can you still hold the cigar in your other hand? If you are trying to hold and cut with one hand, wow, that sounds just about impossible.

A primer on humidification and seasoning

90% is plenty high and I would not leave the sponge in any longer. You risk growing mold that way. However, that assumes something very important: that you are using an accurate, recently calibrated DIGITAL hygrometer. If not, you need to get a digital if using an analog and calibrate it...

    Xikar Whore

Nice collection. I have a couple of Xikars, but they never get used. Nothing wrong with them, but opposite of what the Dr. said, the ergonomics of the Palio work better for me. That being said, Xikar makes some awesome products. I like the looks of their lighters and the rectangle...
