Don't disagree with that either necessarily. But given the choice...go with vintages that are historically better. Obviously not 2000-2002 stuff in general...but all things considered, I'd grab 08 boxes over most 2010/2011 stuff...unless you can open em and see for yourself, and see some stellar...

I wouldn't limit myself to a certain brand/vitola when shopping this way. If I had a friend that was gonna be on the hunt for me, I'd advise him to go for aged stock if at all possible. And not even that old really, but give him a list of a few to grab if say he sees any 2006 or 2008...

Chasing the Breakfast Stout with a Founders Imperial Stout... Not sure if this is the same recipe as the KBS sans the Bourbon barrels...but it sure as hell tastes like it to me. Bold and beautiful. Damn nice Stout.

My 1st go at this years Founders Breakfast Stout. This is to me, the PSD4 of Stouts....it's not mind blowing, but in its price range, I'm not sure there are many that could compete. Not super complex by any means, but what it does, it does extremely well.

Based on what you're looking for...buy a box of the Ramon Allones Allones Extra. Never had one myself, but based on reviews...it's exactly what you're looking for. A 2nd vote for the Upmann Mag 46 as well.
