Yes....the Orval was the most "unique" of the 3 as I recall. I only had one...and I'm going back for my second try at it after this Westmalle is gone, so we'll see if my initial opinion holds true.

Haven't had a ton of the Trappist ales just yet......the St. Bernadus and the Orval being the other two in my latest beer purchase... This one was the best of those 3 IMO...the others were good, but this one was excellent.

I very well may be in the minority here, and that's ok...but reading this review, I can't help but think "2nd verse, same as the first". Only by second verse, I mean like sixth or seventh. Glad folks are enjoying em though, but nothing in the flavor profile described sounds unique or remotely...

Think I may have found a new favorite Belgian... A little heavier in the carbonation, and lighter on the fruit than say a Tripel...but just a really, really nice beer!

Stone Ruination IPA in my glass.... Always a favorite when the Pliny stock runs dry! :shame:

For those who are looking for this style...and coming up empty at their stores...keep an eye out for Deschutes Hop in the Dark. IMO much better than the Stone SSR, but admit I havent tried the 15th Anni yet. I'll fix that though.. I enjoy a nice black IPA...moreso in the Fall/Winter months...

Sums up perfectly my few experiences with this cigar. If I'm gonna smoke a maduro, it'll be a non-cuban one....they just seem to do a better job with em'. Way overpriced for what you get with these IMO.

This is my take on this particular EL cigar as well...and several Monte 2's i've smoked have just plain been better all around. I know some folks love em' though. Thanks for the review.
