375 R is a very good cartridge.. it brings a few things that the 35W doesnt.. If youre an international hunter, 375 is the smallest caliber allowed in many countries for dangerous game.. So while you can hot load a 35 Whelen to very close to 375 H&H ballistics, it doesnt meet the caliber...

I love the 35 whelen.. with the right load there is literally nothing in the western hemisphere the whelen cant tackle.. anything from whitetail to polar bear can be on the menu.. its truly one of the worlds most underrated cartridges IMO.. load it down and its great for thinner skinned medium...
