Operation Esteli 2015 raffle tickets [sold out]

Thanks for the email. I like opportunities to help kids. I don't often come around as I have very little free time, and the time I do have I spend with my family. (I'm not complaining, working and full-time graduate studies take time. :) ) In for four.

    Pipe mouth

+1 on the Biotene. I prefer to smoke what I want to break in a pipe although I have used Carter Hall or Prince Albert to great effect. Also Clan: http://atthebackofthehill.blogspot.com/2011/05/overwhelmingly-putrid.html?m=1 ;)

Your latest pipe/pipe tobacco purchase thread....

It seems OTT to me. You can visually inspect jars by looking at the button on top. Also, giving the ring another turn after the kids have seated themselves does the trick. Sanitizing is sufficient unless sterilizing makes you feel better. FWIW I start with new jars and never reuse the lids.

    Aromatics

Eh, I don't mind aromatics, but I have very few in my cellar. I liked Scotty's Trout Stream and Butternut Burley.

pic of your four legged smoking buddy

I used to have a picture of my buddy handy. He will see me start to get a pipe or cigar ready so he will go pick out a bone. Once we are both ready we go outside together. Sorry to those of you who miss your furry friends. I don't look forward to the time when I have to say goodbye to my dog.

    Maybe it's just me...

I've had one HE (I'd have to check my journal on the size). I liked it, but my palate isn't as refined as some of yours.

How would you dedicate these pipes?

Grrr gave some great advice. Since I smoke predominately VAs, most of my pipes are used for those. I use a couple of pipes for burley blends, a Pete for aromatics, and a couple for English. When a blend sings in one pipe, they get matched up. I use cobs for anything. One cob is used...

    Today's Smoke (2004-2022 Archive)

Undercrown Gran Toro. Tried to retro hale. It is a different experience than doing the same with a pipe. It felt like my eye balls were trying to escape. I liked it.

I'm interested too. I won't share a picture, but I'll paint a verbal one. I keep my pipes in pipe socks, all resting in a decorative shoe box. That shoe box is next to another decorative piece: my Tupperdore. :) At least this way vulcanite won't oxidize due to light.

How to video for the pipers....

I watched his other videos. I appreciate how he takes the time to show off his pipe by smacking the camera lens with it.

Awesome! Our local B&M has a nice smoking area, but no drinks are allowed per state law.
