  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Hey guys long time no see. Looking for the above for the best price. I've seen the Xikar for about 77$ but I'm looking to see if there are others. Going to need some airtight storage that can take abuse and can hold enough for a good amount of time. Any leads?

Pelican imho makes the best dry boxes, multiple sizes but not specific to cigars/humidor, I say this from experience of a river guide and seeing thes things beat up pretty regularly for years and continue to be water tight........ Even seen them come off the back of a moving vehicle with only scuffs

Pelican, xikar and I think Cigar caddy also. Some companies and B&M's slap their own labels on them and sells them too. Really can't go wrong with any of them.

But what do you consider a good amount of time???

Thanks guys. I have 2 15ct cigar caddies and will more than likely go with the Xikar. I imagine if I pull most of the foam shells out I can get the space I need. The time is more relative to how long I will need the storage for and not how long it will stay closed.

Thanks man. 32$ for a 40ct will work. Understand the #s depend on the vitola of cigar but those dimensions are enough.
I'm not a huge fan of the way the foam is in these. Holds lances and coronas and anything else low 40rg or smaller just fine, but start putting robustos in and it gets tight.

That said, I've stuffed it and the lid had to compress everything down, and all my smokes stayed safe.

I take all the foam out except the top and bottom, fill and squish a bit. Then avoid carrying it like USPS after it gets a little empty.
