Okay guys the official 2009 why did I spend so much money this week on cigar bid this week thread. I always like seeing what people are buying and while this would be a nice way to not clog this place up with a bunch of threads. I'd also like to see how long we can keep this going as well.

I actually just made my first purchase on cigar bid, I didn't even think I was going to win the auction. I won 2 GOD 2006 carlito tubos @ 17.00 piece. I wanted to pick some more of these up in case I really enjoyed the one I have. Figured if I didn't like it I could always trade them. All the places around me don't carry the GOF either so thats why I splurged on these.

Just be very careful, you can get into happy bidding and over pay for most of there sticks. Or you can bid on 10+ items and win them all, and not realize you just dropped a 1K on the site.

I was just looking around cbid and it seems that most @holes are bidding right up to MSRP. At that rate I can ride into town and buy singles at the same costs. WTF! Some smokes I can actually get cheaper. I am jaded.

as long as you compare box prices with let's say Holt's or CI or anything like that, DO YOUR MATH and set yourself a reasonable highest bid then you only have to make sure you count your bids. 1K per order happened to me more than I care to know when I started.

CBid is cigar-buying POWER at it's most potent. And like anything else with excessive power--it can be used for good, or it can corrupt you and drag you down before you even realize it.

I can only allow myself to use it in moderation. Over a month of sobriety for me!

I used to buy stuff from there but it's been close to a year since I got anything from them. Most of the desirable stuff goes for almost MSRP as already said so why bother bidding? Places I found I lucked out on were non Padron/Fuente higher priced boxes. Things like La Aurora 100 Anos and was lucky enough to get a box of VSG Wizards for $100 less than msrp.
