  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Anyone smoked them yet? Care to post up a review? I have my two blends and one from a friend just chilling in my humi until mid-April. If anyone caves in and smokes them sooner please post up!

I'm waiting 60 days based on what I can barely remember Saka telling me. It was all a blur those 3 days but I think there was something important about the 60 day wait. Anyway, this is all about having fun and trying something different. I'm not an idiot-savant blender. Well, even if I am, I promised Saka I wouldn't sue if they mass-produced the shit outta my blend lol. Just hope they call it the "Liga Privada Brown Knees" or something. :)

edit: also very much looking forward to my JdN blend. I asked Saka to shred it just based on the leaves and ratios I picked. "Nope, you got it right" was what I took away.

I haven't gone on 2013 obviously, but I enjoyed my 2012 DE blend - not so much my 2012 JdN blend. One thing I noted was a bit of inconsistency, though - some of the smokes tended to smoke spicier while some tended to smoke "fruitier".

Interesting to note, though, when someone on my trip (I think it was BoilAChicken) asked Saka if he'd turn any of our blends into regular release, I think Saka's response was something to the effect of "Not a chance in hell!"

I waited a year to smoke my first go from my first safari and it was really damn good. Then I waited a year to smoke my second attempt hoping it was a similar experience.. nope.

try again this year.

I had one the day after we got back and thought it had the right strength and balance with good flavor. It's a tweaked version of my blend (in size and fillers only) from last year.

Ironically, this year's JdN blend was as strong as I intended for last year's DE blend.

Same for me... off the table awesome, 6 months better, 1 year awesome (shared most of em), 2 year no way... I have one left.

I don't want to be let down again.

I kinda asked the same thing and was told in nicer words, "no." BUT...at JdN, Mario did tell us that they give us a 5 pack of our blends and they make one extra stick for themselves and they really do smoke them just in case someone gets lucky.

I haven't tried any of mine yet. I'm going to let them sit. I hope that they burn....I blended mine with as much ligero possible, plus I threw in a half leaf of that KY fire cured tobacco because it smelled delicious.

I've tried one of each of mine from the April trip I went on. My DE custom was very tasty and should get even better. The JDN was okay but hoping it also gets better.
