Arcangel
"Athlete/rapper/entertainer award winner/Ricky bobby voice" I'd like to thank little baby Jesus and my momma cuz without them none of this would be possible. And thanks to CaJoe for the contest and opportunity lol.
Construction solid and appears to be a good cigar consistent feel all the way through with no apparent issues or blemishes medium brown in color and appealing to the eye in its consistency. Sat in my "on deck" humi at approximately 66%rh for about 5 days. Pictured with a few recognizable sticks for color reference point.
This was a Saturday evening and I was chilling pretty hard after brunch with family and friends and a nap. I put on my Coltrane station on pandora. Weather is 87 degrees the sun setting and there's a slight 5mph on/off breeze.
Pre light Draw was very slightly on the firm side of good. The draw remained the same but quite enjoyable all the way through
First impression was a mild and i really did not taste much initially. The stick graduated to almost medium half way through. Six minutes in the wrapper began to split or come undone but corrected itself and there were no other issues throughout.
Very mellow all the way through the first half and then more flavors start to introduce themselves. I'd have to agree with the tasting notes of earth and wood early and then maybe chocolate later on but I'm not sure what I'd call it without having heard that reference before. I would say I enjoyed the flavors which began as delicate and evolved into more complex. The second half of the stick came alive for me but remained mild/medium. Not powerful but very enjoyable. I'm sipping Avion Reposado tequila which I chose because it is light on the palate and as it turned out co-mingled very well with the flavors. I did not sip any until half way through.
I think it would be even better indoors or on a calmer day as today was slightly breezy which did not allow me to bask in the smoke as I like to do. Last bit gives me chocolate/coffeeish flavors as I finished it off.
I would consider this a great stick for starting the day or a session and just chilling and talking. Total smoke time was an hour and 20 minutes. Very easy on an empty stomach or for breakfast but not distracting. It doesn't steal the show but it goes along with the program very very well. Me and the band aren't friends though lol. When I think arcangels I think dark and gothic so the band seemed odd but it's coloring does match it's flavor profile somewhat as just cool and smooth. But after looking up archangel (disregarding arcangel the puerto rican recording artist lol) its defined as the highest of angels and now the band makes sense as this smoke in its balance and smoothness can be described in word as angelic. I'd definitely keep them on hand Im sure I will smoke the other one soon.
Ok this is my first review ever which I consider more of a laymans POV. Ive smoked all kinds from all countries and tend to enjoy many just for what they are without expectations. I've never Smoked critically and I find that the most difficult part is discerning and describing flavors. I included info I've seen in reviews before and some I thought relevant as my POV also includes the experience and mood which affect how we view a cigar. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed.
