  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

The sign-up will probably be in the next couple of months, closer to the Summer. You can PM Wayne for more details.

Curious....I have (or will have shortly) a vacuum food sealer...Any chance I can use it and the heating/sealing element on it to just put 4 partial seals on some ziploc bags?

You can vacuum seal them for shipping... but you will need special bags for that, as well as the machine to do it... you can get a small machine and a 30 foot roll of the bags for like 35 bux off amazon.

I wasn't clear, sorry, my fault.

A vacuum sealer has the heating element in it to seal the bag.

Could I used that and only partially insert a ziplock to make the finger seals? (forget about the vacuum part of it...just using the sealer).

you'll burn the ziplock bags and ruin the machine most likely.
The vacuum bags are a dif. material, and a much thicker plastic.

I've been making my own lately with a commercial bag sealer. Still looking for a suitable freezer bag that leaves enough room for five fingers. Tricky...

"I just wanted to post here that I have just ordered another lot to do another GB. They will not be here till the summer, but I wanted to let those know who may need them, they are coming. Thanks to all.

I was able to keep the pricing per bag the same, but USPS shipping costs have gone up. Hopefully, I can get lower shipping costs from the front end to keep prices the same. Worst case scenario, the price will go up $1."

The bags have spot welded zipper’s to help with zipper strength and the seams, that separate the compartments, are re-enforced.

Here's the last (9/09) pricing information:

100 bags = $8.75 + $4.80 shipping + fees = $15.00
200 bags = $17.50 + $4.80 shipping + fees = $24.00

*Larger amounts will have to be sent in a box and there is an increase in shipping costs:

300 bags = $26.25 + $9.85 shipping + fees = $38.00
400 bags = $35.00 + $9.85 shipping + fees = $47.00
500 bags = $43.75 + $9.85 shipping + fees = $56.00
600 bags = $52.50 + $9.85 shipping + fees = $65.00

In the past Wayne did buys in groups of 20. He also accepted MONEY ORDER or **.

Mc, I apologize for any confusion I may have created, the info I posted above was taken from another cigar forum. I suggest PMing wayner123 (Wayne) and asking him when he may be doing the group buy here at BOTL.

When it was done here last he did use a list rather than PM's.

Oh crap, Larry, I am sorry. I should have realized that, as I have read much of this post a while back but my memory is not good. Second I guess I get up too yearly and on line before I even wake up. You are not Wayne; are you Larry!
