  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I had this cigar on Friday night over at a buddy's house. It tasted good, woodsy, and a little leathery. It was a darn decent smoke, although milder than I anticipated considering it's "Cask Strength". It'd be a fine smoke for the links, or a good day wheelin on the trail.

What CI has to say about it:

Behold, the mighty Cask-Strength of 5 Vegas.

The term 'cask strength' is a term single-malt scotch and malt whisky enthusiasts are familiar with. Cask strength refers to whiskies that are undiluted, usually creating a powerful bottling strength, high alcohol content, and ample character. That was the inspiration for the 5 Vegas 'Cask-Strength' and the blend lives up to the name....and then some. Crafted in the La Aurora factory, Cask-Strength is a full-bodied, full-flavored, full-tilt cigar. Naturally, it's quite eventful and full of character, but is also measured and balanced. Aged 6+ years, its long-filler tobaccos are blended with a toothy Cuban-seed Dominican wrapper. These fine tobaccos meld, creating a cedary explosion with definable hints of spice on the palate, delivered in a smooth, toasty fashion. As you smoke, the flavors grow in complexity and intensity, building toward a robust finale. In short, this blend is powerful yet refined.

This is a one time production run of 3,000 boxes. Get on the bandwagon before they disappear.

Speaking of boxes, just wait until you see the beautiful packaging in which these cigars are secured. A big, bulky Spanish cedar ‘cask’ with a deep, high-gloss finish slides open to reveal these beautiful handmades. Come on copy-cats, you know you want to imitate this work of art.
I couldn't find a picture. They disabled right click, sorry.

My review - It's a lot like Chinese food. Yummy at the time, but you'll be hungry for another a few minutes later.

3 stars. (*****)
