Brand: 5 Vegas
Line: Miami Knuckle
Vitola: 4.5 x 60
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Corojo
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
Flavor: Medium
Strength: Medium
Price: $59.99 (box of 12)
Description:
First off, I'd like to thank Brooks for this cigar (not to mention the others that were sent with this one). The Knuckle Miami is the 5 Vegas take on the Nub concept. Let's see if this one impresses me more than the Nub.
Construction:
This short, stubby smoke is firm with a light brown wrapper and one long average size vein running the length of the cigar. The draw was very smooth with little resistance.
Burn:
I had a bit of a burn problem. It would never even up on its own and I had to touch it up through the end. The ash was fairly strong, dropping off just past the band. The ash was very light gray and flakey.
Flavor:
This is a very earthy smoke at the beginning with a bit of pepper and a little leather. A floral note surfaced at about the 1 inch mark and the pepper faded a little. A creamy chocolate would make an appearance here and there along with a kitchen spice that I can't identify.
Verdict:
Burn problems aside, it was a good short smoke. I wish the spice and chocolate flavors would have been more pronounced though. These are going for around $5 or $6 a stick, but I see them more around the $4 range at most. I liked this cigar better than all Nub cigars except for the Cameroon. I would recommend this cigar if you can find them for $4 or cheaper.
