  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

This was a nice looking churchill. Natural colored wrapper. Lighter brown with some green splotches near the veins. There weren't any overly large veins. It was firm to the touch with no hard spots detected.

It had a bit of a chicken coop in summer aroma. Pre-light draw was perfect for me. Firm, but not plugged.

1/3
This was one of those cigars which immediately i couldn't figure out the dominant flavor, but i did taste some nuts, toast, maybe even a bit of a buttery flavor. The smoke was cool and volumous.

2/3
A third of the way into this cigar, taste profile was pretty much the same.
Still couldn't tell you that one flavor. It was definitely bugging me, but hey, I was enjoying this cigar, so who cares. A fairly large crack was forming near the head of the cigar. I tried to keep it down with some spit, and it appeared to work.

Last Third
Flavors still the same. Wrapper crack worsened horribly, but it doesn't seem to be affecting draw or taste. I had to purge once do to a harsh taste, but afterwards, it tasted good again.

Burn
This cigar burned very well. It produced a whitish ash that held on for about an inch and a half. Also, volumous amount of smoke which I could blow nice rings. The wrapper crack appeared to only be cosmetic and didn't seem to affect taste or draw. It cracked so bad that it actually all about fell off 2/3rd of the way into it.

Conclusion
While I rarely ever smoke churchills due to the amount of time they demand, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It smoked very cool and had lots of flavors. Its length allowed me to puff a little more than usual and get away with it, where a robusto gets harsh much more quickly if i try this.
