Mixed in with the daily story of political corruption, comes a ray of light:
The Senate also voted 21-17 to bar municipal health departments and boards of public health from “unreasonably” prohibiting the operation of a cigar bar.

The Republican amendment came in response to Boston public health officials last year giving cigar bars 10 years before losing their licenses to operate. “Let the free market work,” said Sen. Richard Tisei (R-Wakefield). “If patrons want to go there and smoke a cigar, God bless them without the nanny state telling them what to do.”

Great news for us Massholes!
Especially since we live in a state where a cigar shop owner was recently fined for smoking a cigar in his own shop, while it was closed for the night! Ratted out to the local police by a weasley little busy-body peeping through the window.

Time to party like the Kennedys!

It's a victory - but not much of one. At 21-17, it's just a matter of time before the pendulum sways back the other way.
