This place IS my vacation
This is still very new to the market. Thanks to my cousin, i was able to get two of them a little early...shhhh! haha. Most people havent heard alot about these, and many have never read a review on one...If you havent tried this, and like a medium to full excellent maduro, this might be your new go-to cigar!! i loved it! (i know i gave it three 10's, but i promise, it really does deserve all of them!)
Appearance and Pre-light: 10/10- The wrapper on this short corona appeared very oily (in a good way) and semi-vain. You almost wanted to just roll the cigar around in your fingers. I punched the cigar and the cap was gorgeous. Not too thick or hard, but not at all flimsy; just right. The pre-light draw of the cigar released beautiful hints of leather, licorice, some nuttiness, and most profoundly: chocolate. It was awesome. I lit the cigar and it took hardly any time to do so. Once lit, the first draw was somewhat non-existent. However, that all changed after the second draw.
Flavor and Notes: 10/10- After the pre-light draw of mostly chocolate and leather, I was surprised to find the chocolate to be less dominant than I had expected. However, it was very much still there kind of like in the distance so to speak. The first third of the cigar was somewhat uneventful but consistent. Notes of leather, nut, and dark Nicaraguan tobacco washed over my palate, releasing a very thick, pleasant smoke. A slight hint of mocha could be found in the exhaled smoke as well. As the second third approached me, I found myself wondering if the chocolate that I so missed would come back. It did, but again, not overwhelming, it was perfect. The spice started to creep in, and I loved it. However, the spice was not as pungent as I would have guessed. The cigar was very consistent and when a new hint of something came into play it was very noticeable, yet pleasant at the same time; not at all overbearing. The spice continued to grow and by the last two inches or so, it was much stronger as well as tasty. Towards the very end, I caught a hint of licorice within a few draws. This was a tasteful surprise, as I got some notes of it in the pre-light draw, but I hadnt got any since then. The finish of the cigar was a very good leather and spice mix.
Burn/ash/draw: 10/10- As far as burn goes for a corona, I was very pleased. I never had to even think of touching it up or relighting it, despite me laying it down for about two minutes. I picked it back up, and the first draw was just as good as the others. The ash was somewhat thin and flimsy, however it did hold up fairly well. It had an off-white color to it. The draw from it was crazy...it was like you only had to think about taking a draw and you had a mouthful of greatness. LOL
