had a review of this stick on my blog, with the exception it was the Generoso (toro) vitola. hope that this is ok (adding my review).
Appearance: 9/10
Construction: 26/30
Pre-light notation: Cocoa from the foot.
Yet another well constructed triple cap. No visible blemishes, or soft spots. One touch up was required during the smoke midway. The ash was firm and held well.
Taste: 52/60
1/3: The first third was mild, yet flavorful. It had spice, but it wasn't overpowering. There were cocoa notes, pepper and a feminine meatiness to it; hearty and complex, without overdoing it.
2/3: During the second third of the smoke, the cocoa intensified. It worked well with the introduction of roasted almond and hints of clove. The Generoso was toasty; in ambiance and taste, even through the nose.
3/3: In the final third of the cigar, woody notes of ceder introduced themselves. A hint of leather was also present. It wasn't a predominant flavor, but mainly another layer of complexity.
Complexity: 76.5/100
I enjoyed the blue label very much. I felt it had a great sense of self, never taking steps that were out of line in development. I like this attribute in cigars. When my brain and palette are in agreement on a cigar's identity. Starting out absent the huge pepper notes was a nice change.
I enjoy cocoa and coffee, especially when I feel that they are surrounded by atypical complementary flavors. In this case, it was the meatiness; slightly salty, filling & well placed. It was a great substitute for an overly spicy, or leathery end.
While much of the variation in the flavors were subtle and enjoyable, I felt that it could have pushed the envelope a little further.
I would fully recommend this cigar to those who enjoy a more roasty-toasty medium-full body cigar.
Overall: 87/100
