This place IS my vacation
Appearance and Prelight: 9/10- This lighter brown/tanish cigar is very sleek looking. The wrapper houses no veins and is very, very smooth. The prelight draw brings some slight honey mixed with wheat held up by a nice subtle peppery zest that hits the nose. The draw was more on the tougher side, but I didnt mind it. I usually go for looser draws but for some reason I felt like the tough draw on this particular stick was just right. The cap was a little wimpy, cracking just a tad, however not enough to hinder the smoke.
Flavor and Notes: 8/10- The first several draws exposed a peppery washout along with some nice honey/white bread taste. It was very pleasant but yet different to me. I really enjoyed it. The cigar was very consistent into the second third. It was easy to tell when the second third began because the nice light honey taste transformed into old hay and let a heavier pepper shine as the main overtones. In the midst of the exhaled smoke, there was some honey to be enjoyed as well. The stick eased into a very nice pepper while building into the final third. I loved it because the cigar was not too complex, but very enjoyable. It was usually pretty easy to tell when the new overtone came in and telling what it resembled was not a hard task at all. Besides the Connecticut, the O is the mildest out of the Oliva bunch; definitely my ideal medium bodied go-to smoke. It would be great for a change-of-pace stick. I cant wait to try the maduro. I will be buying more of these.
Burn/Ash/Draw: 9/10- Like I stated before, there was a slight issue with the cap cracking on me. I know that the cigar was stored properly, so Im blaming this one on production. It was not even that big of a deal though, still a killer smoke! The burn was very close to perfect, and had that tighter draw I was talking about earlier. The ash didnt hold up as long as I like, however again-that is not a big deal to me. All in all, this was a very easy to define cigar that was very enjoyable! I feel like it would be perfect for the newer smoker! Thanks for reading!!
