  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

While I have never smoked an Acid and all I have heard was that they are nasty I WOULD LOVE to read a review from someone who actually likes them.

I am interested to see how well you enjoy it and what you get out of it.

I see the Acids I smoke in me clubhouse on occasion as a sacrifice I'm willing to make for ol'what'shername - the old trouble and strife - she enjoys the pheromone-like aroma, cuddles up closer on the deep leather cushions and ads her own personal touch to this one-in-a-weekend experience. One does what one must do for bliss - without reserve and without condescension - Acid, like many things is either an acquired taste for the fun of it, or it is a tool in the hands of the right galah - Ha! (aqua velva :) - that was funny - gave all of us down here at the local a good Ha! - Well done - Well said ~:0)

Can't wait to see the review! Curious to see your take on acid...I've never smoked one myself due to their reputation on this site, but maybe you're review would change my mind!

We all have different tastes, no reason to knock him because he likes something you don't, just my opinion.
+1, Larry!!

Check out my quote. Basically, don’t live your life with the intent of pleasing others! My guess is that a lot of guys on here that knock Acids have not tried them. Quite frankly, if they were that horrible, Drew would be out of business. If you're curious, pick up a single of a natural or an acid. Worst comes to worst, toss the cigar if you don't like it. Don't base your opinion off of the opinions of others, try different things and form your own individual opinion. Of coarse we can keep the opinion of those we trust in mind, but don't allow that to be the deciding factor of your opinion.

I personally do not prefer Acids, but that's just my personal taste. When I started smoking cigars, that's all I smoked, and I ENJOYED THEM! My palate has matured and I have found that I enjoy other cigars now and no longer prefer infused or flavored cigars, but I enjoyed them then. To be honest, I'm not spending the money and smoking the cigars for the pleasure of anyone other than myself.

That said, CPT Bettis, I don't care what Acid haters say, smoke what you like, and like what you smoke! Looking forward to your review!!

Enjoy!

Ok, I totally forgot about my review for awhile, so here it is. I love the debates on here about ACIDS.

The ACID 5 was a good smoke, but much milder than I expected. You could tell it was infused, but not as heavy as some other ACIDS. We rated it at 85, most of the point being lost on consistancy towards the end. Good construction and good resting smoke. It was good, but not my favorite.

For all the ACID haters, try an ACID ONE. By far, one of my favorite cigars and I just ordered another box. ACID says it's their only non infused cigar, but this is hard to believe because it does have a lot of sweetness. I think this might be my "standing on the flightline, helicopters coming in, about to go home victory cigar" but that is still debateable.

Sorry I don't have a full review, because we lost the score sheet somewhere.

BTW, I smoked a Cohiba the other night and it felt like I was losing my virginity all over again. Best cigar I have ever had. I just ordered a couple 5 pack samplers from swisscigars.com (if these are as good as the one I had, they will replace the ACID as my victory cigar.)

After a few 5 packs of the Acid 5 I bought a box too. A great cigar when I'm looking for a medium bodied smoke. The cigar is complex and flavorful.
I'm also a big fan of the Acid One as well. My only beef with the cigar is the sweet crapola that they put on the tip. The cigar doesn't need crappy sweet water, the tobacco stands up by itself.

Also in my humidor is the Drew Estates Natural Dirt Torpedo, a great cigar when I want something different.

Not a fan of sweettips either, but some of us are! *lol*

I like the Kuba Kuba and the Blondie, but for me, ACID's are a twice or three times a year smoke. I have been itching to try the Kuba Kuba maduro, though.
