  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

The Specs
Length/Gauge: 5.0” x 50 Robusto
Wrapper/Filler: Nicaraguan Habano Wrapper/Nicaraguan filler
Price- $2.50 each, $42.95 for a mazo of 20 @Cigar.com

Appearance & Construction
Light chocolate brown wrapper, several visible seams and veins. Slightly rustic appearance. V-cut cleanly, no issues with the pre-light draw, pack seems right on. Burn got a little wavy towards the end, but did not require a touch up or relight.
Grade: C+

Flavor
Pre light draw is a light tobacco/wood flavor. Lights right up and has a very classic tobacco flavor. Some prominent spice in the middle of my mouth on the short finish.

Ash is dirty white and flakey/powdery and drops off on its own every ½” or so, which is fine otherwise it looks like I’d be wearing it.

Smoke is plentiful, but not thick or chewy. Stick starts as medium and ends just shy of full. Same classic tobacco flavor and spice on the finish all the way through.
Grade:C+

Value
At <$3/stick, the single note of the classic flavor for this stick was very good and would make a great knocking around cigar.
Grade: B+

Final Thoughts
I wasn’t expecting a lot of complexity in a cheap stick like this, but the classic flavors were spot on. You can do much worse, and probably not a whole lot better, for the price point. Keep some around for doing yard work this summer.
Final Overall Grade:B

Bonus
Want to try for yourself? I’ve got several from the bundle remaining, send me a PM and I’d be happy to pass some along to you at my cost.
