  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I picked up a 10 pack of these, relatively inexpensive cigars on an auction site about a month ago.. and just fired the first one up.. so I thought I would post a short/quick review..

I really didnt know what I was getting into with these sticks.. I havent smoked a whole lot of AJ Fernandez products in the past (with the exception of Man O War Virtues.. I like those quite a bit..).. but I thought at a price point of $22 for 10 cigars they would be worth a try.. (MSRP is $5 a stick... so I thought I was getting a pretty decent deal on the auction)..

bottom line up front... it was OK.. nothing exceptional.. but not a bad smoke either.. I wont be running back to CI/Cbid to buy some more anytime soon.. but the remaining 9 in my humidor will be fine for daily smoke/yard gar type activitives..

Construction:
The cigar is a little rough to the touch.. no large veins or anything.. but lots of little lumps.. Im guessing the binder is rough.. the foot is well packed.. and both the foot and the cap are finished nicely.. overall construction was not bad at all.. in fact, I would consider it pretty good for a low cost stick..

Burn:
Zero complaints here.. the cigar held a very nice ash.. (got up to about 1 1/2" at one time), albeit a little bit flaky.. and burned evenly from start to finish.. no touch ups or relights required.. the stick produced a decent amount of smoke

Taste:
The first few draws were pretty bitter.. very earthy, with a good bit of pepper and spice.. this stayed pretty constant through the first 1/3 of the stick.. with the bitterness falling away pretty early on.. by the middle of the stick it had mellowed out quite a bit and the cigar emerged as a medium bodied, spicy smoke, with just a faint bit of sweetness to it (couldnt really identify what sort of sweet.. it wasnt a typical chocolate or caramel flavor.. but it definately had just a hint of sweetness.. flavor lasted all the way to the nub without much change..

Overall:
A decent smoke.. as said above, I wont be rushing out to get more.. but at the price point I picked them up at, I would buy them again if given the opportunity.. Theyll make excellent moochador sticks if nothing else :)

Interesting. I haven't had these yet, but I have friends that enjoyed them. Thanks for the review!

There are lots of people who are stuck with junk car towing and want to get rid of them. Most of these people are not willing to give the cars away for free. Most of these were bought for a lot of money so giving them away for free is difficult. But, a lot of people need to sell their junkies for various reasons even if it is just to get them off their properties. Old vehicles can also be a hazard to people's lives. And they also destroy the appearance of the property. This is why most people consider selling them. Were you aware that you can sell your junk car very easily?
