I smoked this one Wednesday night during a break at my step-son's Winter Concert. That's right, I didn't listen to all of it, but saw his performance. This was a break time 30-40 minute cigar. 4 X 46. Its another of the cigar from the contest.
This is what the manufacturer/retailer describe the cigar as.
In response to the demand for bigger and bolder, Alec Bradley takes it to the "Maxx". A combination of top primings that complement each other and combine to give you a full and complex flavor.
The blend consists of Columbian, Nicaraguan, Mexican and Honduran tobaccos. The binder is Costa Rican and the wrapper is a smooth, dark Nicaraguan Habano leaf.
My review as follows.
Pre-light inspection showed a nice dark wrapper. Somewhat smooth and well made. Hints of spice, pepper and nutmeg. Slight coffee comes through on taste with the pepper overtones. Cut well and draw was pretty good prior to light. Lit well, but has a slight retricted draw for first few hits. Pepper and spice remained.
Good smoke from the little guy, as well as good flavor. A slight uneven burn, which I had to correct twice. The cigar continued to be a decent smoke throughout the entire time, keep good flavors.
The last half to third continued to burn well and had a good draw. The last 1/3 had a Great peppery taste with a dynamite aroma. This cigar got better as I smoked it. No bad after taste and this cigar finished nice. Was able to take it to a 1 inch nub with no problem.
On a scale of 1 -10, I would rate this one a 6.5. It lacked the big punch, until the end. I liked the aroma and taste, but wished that more of the flavor would have come out. For a blended cigar by Alec Bradley, The cigar was "ok", but I expected more. I will definitely try a few more. At $4.00 per cigar, its not too pricey for a quick cigar. JMHO
Hope this helps.
