  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

These should drop in late February!

CA article

On Saturday at Famous, I was hanging out & snapping a few pics of Pete's new tattoo (2 actually), he asked me to stick around for a bit... We talked for a bit more & I wished him well & went on with my evening...

RusselP came over after swinging by the shop to collect a cutter he won & said "Pete gave me these two sticks for you & I to try...."
(I knew exactly what they were!)

Out came the camera...

And another for good measure...

(The one on the left is the Sumatra wrapper [a bit darker], the one of the right, the Habano wrapper.)

The first observation was with similarities with other sticks.

The Habano wrapped stick was very similar to the Series P in initial taste with a little extra flavor (almost like a component of the Verocu), 'amped-up' a little...

The Sumatra wrapped stick really reminded us both of the Pepin Blue label: very peppery and spicy but not quite as much as the Blue...

The second observation came about a little later in the smoke when comparing them side-by-side...

The Habano started mild-medium & developed strength & body over the duration of the smoke to be a solid medium.

The Sumatra did the opposite: it started like a pepper & spice bomb that mellowed out a bit after the half-way point (but still ended a bit stronger than the habano - medium-full).

They were both very interesting sticks that we think will do well between the Series P & the Havana VI series. I think we both preffered the Sumatra wrapper for it's spiciness & strength, though we would certainly opt for the Habano wrapper over the Series P.

What a cool opportunity & I would highly recommend getting some of both to smoke now & later when these arrive in a few more weeks!!!!

Thanks again Pete & Russel!!!
