  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Anejo No. 46*
Don't know the age

First puffs produce a nuttiness that was very good

That nuttiness then Turned to a dull woody flavor

Ending the first third it continued with the woodsy flavor

At the halfway point and Im starting to pick up a slightly sweet finish which is enjoyable

Started to get a dirty flavor
Once the ash dropped I purged it and that dirt flavor went back to a sweet woodsy flavor

As I come up to the band *the dirt taste is back and this is where I put it down

I was disappointed with this smoke. This was my first Anejo and I was expecting more. The two days prior I had two great sticks and thought this was going to be my third.*

I will def try these again as everyone loves them. Hopefully the next one will be better.

My experience is that older doesn't equal better with the anejo's. I know others feel differently. Personally, I like to smoke them within a year.

Pa,
I've only heard good things about these so I was surprised when it wasn't a stellar stick. The flavors just weren't doing it for me.

Thanks for the review. Glad to see when the member reviewers keep it real rather than bow to the consensus. Personally, I enjoy them but haven't always had great one's either.

I was told by many that they enjoyed this years release, I personally did not... but bought a box (so far) that will sit for at least 6-12 months.

It's a little complicated for me. 04 and 06 Anejo's accross the board were stellar. 07's turned out great after a couple of years. 08 jury is still out for me. 09 50's were fantastic, but the others were rather mediocre and the 49's weren't even good to me. 10 has me hoping a return to greatness. But in general, 46 and 48 are my go to size's.

I bought a box of 60's and I've not yet tried one, we'll see!
OOOh! These were a treat for me, best flavor out of the different sizes I've tried for 10. If they don't work out for you send me a pm and maybe we can work something out.

Warren I love this size for sure... In fact I was doing my annual purchase of a box of anejos and wanted some 46's as usual but my buddy sold me on the 60's. I thought they were bigger until he explained the 858 to me and I though WOW what a perfect cigar. I think the 858 size is just bad ass, it's perfect wrapper to filler/binder ratio.

I have really enjoyed the '10 release of the 46.

The 60 isn't exactly an 8-5-8 size. It's 1/4" longer and 1 RG bigger....same size as the Perfecxtion X (6 1/4 x 48).
