So a couple of days ago, while out to lunch at work, my car window was smashed and my Canon Rebel T2i and my wife's Macbook Pro was stolen (at 1PM on a Tuesday, can you believe that sh*t?). So at this point, I'm in the market for a new camera. Was originally looking at getting another Canon, but yesterday I used my boss's Leica D-Lux 4 and was really surprised at not only picture quality, but the ease at which it shot. Started looking at other mirrorless cameras, such as the Sony Alpha Nex7, Fujifilm XM1, and have heard good things about the Panasonic Lumix. Anyone out there shooting on a mirrorless? Mainly I use it for scout photos (locations for film and TV), but when I'm not working I like to shoot a little bit more artsy. Also not looking to break the bank since my wife and I are gearing up to buy a house (when it rains, it pours, and my wallet cries green tears.)

Stick w/ the Sony NEX line or whatever they call it now...think it falls into the Alpha line now. They have the largest 3rd party support so easier to find what you need. I have a NEX 5N and it does a great job for what I use it for. The NEX 7 is getting long in the tooth but you might find one for a good deal due to that. I'd go w/ either the NEX 5t or the A6000 if you go with new. the A6000 is the NEX 7 replacement.

I shot Minolta/Sony for 20 years so I know their systems pretty well. Recently changed to Canon for business reasons, still love Sony.

I agree with Nick....Sony's quality can't be beat. The only problem is that nobody carries lenses for them so it's not like you can walk in to Best Buy and pick one up. You either have to go to a camera store or directly through Sony to get OEM equipment. I shoot with the A65 which is Translucent Mirror (all of the Alpha is), but the I have heard good things about the NEX line. especially the a7r (Wi-Fi!). I would consider upgrading to it but I don't want to have to buy new lenses (A mount to e mount) and I'm not a big fan of lens adapters as I've heard it causes problems with the AF.
